Tour starts September 4th so that's two weeks before the official release in the US. Only the standard jewel case will be on sale earlier so Limited Edition 2CD and vinyl won't be on sale until official release dates.

Oh hi there! You wouldn't be the same Jasper from the Opeth forums, would you?

same one.

No time for US fests this year unfortunately but maybe next year. Europe usually takes priority with festivals because there's so many in the same period you can route them together and keep costs down. Plus they pay a lot better... But you're right that festivals are the way to go in the US to get more exposure for the DTP.

Wait, has Devy actually gotten offers to play some festivals in the US? That would be awesome if he did play some festivals here. As many have said before, his fanbase in the US pales in comparison to Europe, or probably any country. :(
However seeing him in a small club setting in Columbus where he just walked into the crowd before and during the concert was mind-blowing! Best concert experience I have ever had, and Devy isn't even my favorite artist! (Top 5)

I tried reading what you wrote but I kept seeing "Devy isn't even my favorite artist!" and that didn't make sense to me. It seemed like you were saying that Devin Townsend wasn't your favorite, but that's silly. So, I had to read it a few more times and I finally had to just concede that my reading comprehension is low and I am unable to understand the words you wrote.

Unless... No. No, it couldn't be. I am experiencing cognitive dissonance. Don't mind me.

He isn't my favorite artist. My favorite is Britney Spears, but you guys wouldn't understand the depth of emotion and time she takes in writing her own songs..............wait
JK !!!
Devin Townsend in all of his solo incarnations is my 5th favorite band/artist/omniscient alien puppet/whatever (DON'T KILL ME!!!)....for now.....just depends on if my 4th favorite can redeem himself from his last three records..... :?

Dev as a solo artist is definitely my number 2. The spots for the top 3 are a constant war zone, however, considering later releases have caused an effect on my view of certain bands. Suffice to say Metallica are no longer number 1 (they lost that spot back in 2004).

Cynic takes the numer 1 spot for me. Devin and Tom Waits share the #2 spot in my heart

this might be a good thread topic elsewhere, hmmm?

(he's my number one anyway. Only others I ever considered go back to my mid-teen years, but Iron Maiden and Type O were always 2 and 3. Really really was into In Flames when I was 15 though. Then they started to suck. Boy did they suck)

For me, it's Devin, Ayreon and The Protomen, in that order.

I'd have a hell of a time trying to pick a fourth, though.

We're now so off topic, I'll join in. Number 1 for me. It's a tough choice but he's been an ever present in my list for so long, and has soon many albums that are in my favourites, there's no one else it can be overall

I guess this is my fault. I'm sorry.

But not sorry enough to not add mine.

I guess my favorite of all time is Rush. I have listened to them for 30 years now. But, Devin is second. After that, i don't think I could rank artists.
