I didn't read DaVinci Code, but I did read Angels and Demons. It was diverting and entertaining. A good thriller and interesting. Definitely worth the price of a paper back.
Looping green and blue, and you will go letting yourself certainly the meal once again through the head. But after the departure, you feel free and happily like after your first orgasm - and you will beg for addition. - German review of SYL's "Alien"

Agreed. I've read them both and another one of his just because I wanted something not overly mind blowing or chalelgning, just a nice simple read, and they were and very enjoyable They're not perfect books, but then that's not really what they are meant to be

Awesome! One of my favorite books is "Childhood's End". I also liked the Rama and Space Odyssey novels.
But my all time favorite is probably "Catch-22" by Heller, which I saw was already mentioned.
Runner-ups:
-"Ubik" by Philip K. Dick
-"The Invisible Man" by H.G. Wells
-the Hitchhiker "Trilogy" by Douglas Adams
-"The Bourne Supremacy" by Robert Ludlum (completely different from the movie, and a thousand times better)

I second that.
Angels and demons got me reading again, before that I hadn't touched a book since I was like 15. It's an entertaining book that mixes fact and fiction in a really cool way, better than the davinci code IMO. Plus, if you're a sucker for logos like I am, there's some awesome stuff in there...
