Yikes! I can't believe we don't already have one! I'm disappointed in you guys. :P

So who does everyone cheer for? I live in Calgary so my team has to be the Flames and its awesome seeing them do so well after what seemed like centuries of mediocrity. We beat Ottawa last night 2-1, and we've been doing very well over the past month and a bit with only 3 (4?) losses during that stretch... That's in spite of the fact that Iginla isn't playing like a monster.

Anyway... What do you guys think of the Predators this season? Carolina? These two teams are doing way better than anyone would have predicted. I don't like Nashville much but Carolina looks like the real deal :D

Here's how the West Conference is ranked right now...

1 DETROIT*
2 CALGARY*
3 DALLAS*
4 NASHVILLE
5 VANCOUVER
6 LOS ANGELES
7 COLORADO
8 EDMONTON
-9 PHOENIX
-10 ANAHEIM
-11 SAN JOSE
-12 MINNESOTA
-13 CHICAGO
-14 COLUMBUS
-15 ST LOUIS

And here is the East:

1 OTTAWA*
2 NY RANGERS*
3 CAROLINA*
4 PHILADELPHIA
5 BUFFALO
6 TAMPA BAY
7 MONTREAL
8 TORONTO
-9 NY ISLANDERS
-10 NEW JERSEY
-11 ATLANTA
-12 BOSTON
-13 PITTSBURGH
-14 FLORIDA
-15 WASHINGTON

I'm a Chicago fan myself, so the Blackhawks are my team, but they're complete shit this year, so it's a little harder to keep up with them. I'm very impressed with how well Ottawa's been doing this year though.

Chicago's picked it up. They're doin much better now than they had been earlier on.

New NHL is awesome. Its taken a little bit of time for the refs and players to adapt to the rule changes, but it is definitely coming along. Scoring is up and comebacks are much more common now. It's still not as physical as the NHL used to be, which is a downer, but the clutching and grabbing, so far, has been eliminated.

so new NHL = thumbs up.
