Death - Lack of Comprehension
Vai - Down Deep into the Pain
Dream Theater - Pull me Under

This list has some explaining to do: it's all videos I saw on Headbanger's Ball back in the days which opened me to the music I enjoy now: heavy, technical, complex, beautiful.

Dunkel, again a great name for a thread

Very difficult... First song that came to my mind:

Fear Factory - Self Bias Resistor

The other songs might change about every time I'd try to do this again, but now I'll go with...

Jewel - Foolish Games
Devin Townsend - Earth Day

Very tough thread, but for the moment I'll go with these:

Pestilence - "Land of Tears"
Metallica - "Battery"
Paradise Lost - "True Belief"

Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People

My sister was listening to this song in 1997, so I bought his new album "Mechanical Animals". First taste of metal(I'd heard Metallica and Maiden, but didn't like it 'til after I got into Manson), and I was sold.
The song that pushed me in the "right" tracks.

Windir - Saknet

Got this song by a friend in 2002.
The song that made me really appreciate extreme metal.

In Flames - Reroute To Remain

Another friend had it in his discman, and I listened to it, and I loved it.
The song that got me into melodic stuff for real.

Soundgarden - Rusty Cage
SYL - Oh My Fucking God (enabled me to understand and appreciate brutality in music)
KC and the Sunshine Band - Give It Up (one of the first songs that stuck in my head when my dad used to play it.)
