Probably because of the shitload of different drums and cymbals.

This one has one tiny bass drum, the one with the skull.
I once saw a bassdrum with a diameter of like 20cm, and like 50cm deep. Sounded pretty much like snare to me.

THat small one is an electronic pad I believe.

For some strange reason I bought '2112' in a charity shop for £2 today. On vinyl. And I don't have a turntable yet.

And they say I'm crazy!!!

I think that is an electronic drum pad oversized much.

I swear I did not post that last sentence. I have no idea where it came from, I did not post that. Some moderator must have made a mistake, editing my post instead of his own. Or pushing Edit instead of Quote.

Rush is my favorite band. Hands down. I have loved Rush for over 20 years now. I have every album except the first one and those retrospective collections. No point in buying them. Oh, and I didn't buy that latest EP yet. I still might, though.

I have never had an issue with Geddy's voice. Not at all. Dude, you cannot hate on Rush. Maybe you don't prefer them but they are masters at what they do. Neil Peart is THE best drummer in rock. (Probably.) :-) Geddy plays an incredible bass and Alex Lifeson can shred but chooses to play what he needs to.

For me, the best albums are Signals, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, and Presto. But, they all have some really great stuff on them.

Rush is such an influential and seminal band for metal and progressive rock that you just have to respect that. Plus, they're Canadian! Come on now!

The thing I love about Rush is that although (technically) I really only love 4 albums (2112, Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves) I can still say they are one of my favorite bands. MOving Pictures is good, I am just really tired of it. Grace Under Pressure is 50% amazing the other half is ehh...

ONe thing I have to give them for the 80's material is that they were able to write prog songs without being uber-long. They would have a good or great song in 5 and a half minutes while maintaining intersting song structures and great melodies. Not alot of other Prog bands can pull that off.
