It sounds really interesting! From reading the description and the tracklisting, I get the sense of a festive midsummer night in a forest, where things are mainly laid back and joyous, but where there also are "creatures of the night" lurking in the dark. The participants (us) will learn to face our fears and by the end of this story, we find ourselves on the egde of the forest, looking out over an oceanic field where the cool morning breeze create the illusions of sunbeams playing happily around in the high grass...

But hey, this means we need to hear the album NOW!!!

Who need buddhism when you've got Devin Townsend

I see it as a wonderful soundtrack to said Buddhism.

I don't post here much... but I can't help myself.

This album is gonna be something very very special, I can feel it! And since I'm pretty much into Buddishm, I'll probably start meditating after the album has played through. I'm always searching for new relaxing stuff... and I'm yet to find anything as relaxing or "dreamy" as the Ocean Machine album.

Methinks Devin has to be spiritual and very aware of what kind of music/sounds that can touch human beings at the very core!

Just my thoughts....

Devin certainly has a way. His music always manages to get me on some level, either it relaxes me and makes me calm with his solo stuff, or DTB, or it makes me pumped and ready to go with SYL, that is why his music is my favorite.

I think Devlab and Alien both prove that Dev is experiencing one of his most creative phases so far.

Yeah, especially with Devs music. I hate it when you show an album to people and they go "Put on the hit song"..
Take your time and listen to the whole thing damnit!

Besides, it's impossible to pick out one song as representative of a certain Devin Townsend-album. Or - worse - if they ask you to play something representative of Devins musical style, or ask which album is the best....

and as we can see from all the polls here, one person loves a certain song more than other people. so if you show a song to a friend, s/he may not like it. too hard to cater. i agree - listen to it all.
