I'm not sombebody who says bad things about people only because they're famous or something. I even think that the band that made Grohl famous (Nirvana) was really interesting and I like their first album, but I think that he is totally fucking overrated.

Maybe it's just me and I'm too stupid to get it, but if I compare his drumming to that of most other drummers I know, it just seems to me that it's nothing special at all. And IMO his drumsound always sucked - especially on "Nevermind" by Nirvana and on "Songs for the Deaf" by QotSA (it sounds way to flat on that one).

But I've got the impression that he's a very down-to-earth person for being that famous and I think the bands he plays and played in are rather good for being mainstream-bands. I can't say much about his guitar skills and the stuff he did with Foo Fighters, because I haven't heard that much of it yet - maybe it totally rules and would change my mind.

I think his work with QOTSA was quite good. Its been played to death but 'No One Knows' is a damn good beat.

Don't expect much guitar awesomeness in Foo Fighters.

Overrated by some, underrated by others. I think he's pretty good though, his work on the last QOTSA album inspired me alot. I was never into Nirvana, so that stuff never appealed to me, never paid much attention to his work then. But everytime I listen to "Song For The Dead" from QOTSA's last album, I am amazed by what he does on it.

I don't like Nirvana.
I like Foo Fighters.
I hate (in musical sense) QOTSA.
I'm very interested to hear his work on the last NIN too.

I really don't know if he is under or overrated...
Maybe as a drummer is a little overrated...

Dave Grohl is cool the stuff he did on the last killing joke record was really cool. I liked Probot. I'm not really much of a foo fighters fan at all though.

He is a good musician that can write good songs, play guitar, play drums and sing with a very cool voice ... So I think it is not that bad

As a drummer he may be a bit overrated, but as an overall musician he deserves all the praise he gets I think. I really enjoyed Probot too.

I have no idea why, but I have one of those completely unneccesary predjudices against him.

There's nothing in particular about him that annoys me, he just does

I think anyone in the 'mainstream' that is still willing to try as many different things as he does deserves some respect. Other than that, I dont know what you can say really.
