I thought this record was going to be scream free? I hear some definite screams there (not that that's a bad thing ). Sounds awesome and heavier than I expected (also not a bad thing).

I remember Dev tweeting that record surprised him by being heavier than he expected. The muse will occasionally take you where you least expect it.

I have learned to take whatever Dev says about a work in progress with a grain of salt. This album sounds very heavy. And, poppy? Him, I don't hear pop music in there. I hear some mother trucking gottdamn sweet ass HevyDevy music! Fuck yeah! Where do I sign up for the preorder!

Nice. I think it'd be crazy if that song was Grace - I was crazy in love with a girl named Grace for a while, but it crashed hard. I left it with a bunch of odd thoughts and philosophies regarding love.

Seriously, if he wasn't worried, it would mean he wasn't challenging himself, or us as listeners. Putting out the same record repeatedly like some bands do is safe. Devon, in my eyes is the most honest musician around, and he's not going to do that. He experiments, and does what he feels. It's risky for him, and the fans, but it's totally worth it when it comes oft!
