Ryan's style is very musical...he doesn't usually play for the "listen to how bad ass i am at drums" effect, he plays whatever it is that maximizes the vibe of the music, and I give him mad props for that, because musicality is more important than sheer chops (which many drummers tend to focus their style on...playing fast and hard, all the time). And yep, he is absolutely top-notch when it comes to using cymbals creatively, my own playing takes some influence from his style in that area
