Yes! At first i thought it was a bit over-the-top to put exclamation marks on every song! But after listening the album i wanna tattoo an exclamation mark on my forehead!

I'm going to keep assuming for as long as I can that at the end of Bend It Like Bender! they're singing "Hang on to your women."

Ih-Ah! ranks first. Is Anneke on that one at all? I keep thinking I'm hearing her, but then the feeling vanishes again... Devin has such a versatile voice. I remember being confused about the fourth line in the chorus of Gato, which sounded like the chick but really wasn't...

The entire album is approximately twenty times cooler, also, because of the exclamation marks.

Actually the 2nd listen did make me cry... There's something about the 2nd listen,

Especially from Ih-Ah to Awake, when the album takes a more serious turn.

The album is so energized it caused a blackout here! Atleast I'm gonna pretend Addicted caused it, cause it makes it even cooler! Yeah, can'ts stop using these things!

Love it. The whole album really hits the right spots with me.

Dev described it almost perfectly, it is a groovy, very chorus based album that straight up rocks and is very, very danceable (it's 1:00 AM here,[on a saturday] so alcohol may have played it's part), while still being undoobidably metooooooooollll. It is what I think most Dev fans would consider excellent party music, really good for exercising to. The titles should have exclamation marks and be in capitals. I was a bit skeptical about Dev bringing a GIRL in to sing on almost all the songs, but fuck me, Anneke is amazing, and her voice sits perfectly with the wall of sound, Hevy Devy mix, and is the perfect counterpart to his voice.

I've just finished my second listen through, and I could not be happier with it. Thank you Dev.

Also, I'm one of the many of us that was checking multiple websites almost hourly for about a month now waiting for this (Addicted [everybody else said it at leat once, so fuck you I'm going to use it) , so to finally hear it is a huge weight of my shoulders, the fact that the album is just absolutely enjoyable just makes it even better.

Also also, is it just me or does Awake kind of seem like it's preempting Deconstruction a bit? I thought the same of Ki though, so maybe it's just me being selfish and wanting to hear the next one already....

Favorites: To hard. Tell you later

I think Dev said it best
It's a party record I guess...good for exercising, but theres something about it that I find VERY moving, very moving...

emotion is a blessing man. So the sooner you realize it, the later you get impotent :D

There is a time and place for certain emotions though.

Hey, no worries man. I just submit that is there no better time or place than in your room appreciating art? It wasn't like I was just bawling while jazzercising or cleaning the house while the music was on. I was analyzing the composition, evaluating it and comparing it to emotional resonance that previous albums of Devin's have had. Some do, some are just fun to listen to. Ocean Machine, Terria, The Greys from Ziltoid, Terminal from Ki (lost someone in the family around the time of this album), and Addicted are the ones that have done that to me from his work. And it's not like Universe in a Ball made me tear up, I'm talking about Ih-Ah through Awake.

If it didn't strike you that way, I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, you are your own human being and all.

Back to the album.

It's a full package. Parts groovy, parts poppy, parts exceptionally serious and honest. I didn't think anything could be more honest than Ki. Ih-Ah through the end though make a pretty goddamn serious claim though. To talk about Dev anymore would be kinda redundant on this forum though after speaking about my own emotional resonance.

RVP crushed on this album. Seriously, I think he's advancing by leaps and bounds, if you compare where he was during the Accelerated Evolution days to where he is now, holy shit. I hope people start name dropping him soon. It's his drumming that drives Bend it Like Bender even though they're simple. There's nothing wrong with simple if it's that fucking effective. Obviously he shows his chops in spades elsewhere on the album.

I mentioned this in Dev's thread about the leak discussions, but I'll post it here too:

First I just wanna say that I did pre-order the album and I can't wait for it to arrive.

I just got done listening to the album. All I can say is WOW! Dev, you've done it again.

There isn't many albums to me that can match up to my all time favorite album, Terria. But I swear this is on the same level to me. Like everyone else's thoughts here, Numbered! is my favorite track. I actually love Bend It Like Bender! a lot. It makes my head bang in a Dance Metal way.

The only thing I'm disappointed about is that this upcoming tour is skipping the Minnesota/Wisconsin area. Maybe there's a chance you can hit this area on a 2nd run through North America?

Either way, you have put out 2 of my top 5 favorite albums this year. Keep up the amazing work, and I'll be gladly waiting for Deconstruction to kick our asses.

I can't believe how much better songs are when they have good quality... Just started it but holy SHIT! The first 3 songs are so much better... I don't feel guilty either, I preordered the uber package :)

My memory might be fabricating things, like it seems to enjoy doing, but I seem to remember talk of recording some video when Dev and co went out to LA.

Again, my mind likes to trick me a lot. So don'ts shoots me if I'ms wrongs.
