I wouldn't call Jeff Beck an innovator (Well, maybe I would). He just did blues rock better than everyone else did it back then. Always knew that extra note to put in or take out. Really feels the guitar like it's an extension of him.
There's this dude named Michal Wojtas, plays under the moniker Amarok. He's worked with Maruisz Duda from Riverside before. His biggest influences are Jeff Beck, David Gilmour, and Mike Oldfield, and it shines through in his music, which pretty much sounds like a combination of Mike Oldfield, David Gilmour, and Jeff Beck.

On another note, I'd trade Santana's life to get Hendrix back any day. No disrespect to the man (knows how to use Dorian like a motherfucker), but the last two albums were horrible.
