Not particularly....unless I had something to prove it to myself, then no...similarly I have no proof against it so I do not disbelieve it
The only really spooky experience I've had was a few years ago, we were at my bf's house making lunch. I really got this strong feeling that his brother (or someone the same height) had walked into the room, turned around and there was no one there. I thought nothing of it. Afew minutes later, my boyfriend said something about having thought hed walked in...and he said it was when he had said something about the butter. the exact moment I had...but it turne dout we were the only ones in the house the whole time
The town I lived in from the time I was born until I was 5 or so was built on an old Indian reservation/camp. My house was located on a hill very close to a creek that was supposed to have been used by the Indians.
Lots of strange things happened in this town. I was too young to remember, so all I have to go by is what my mother and family who lived there told me.
1. One evening in the summer, my mom and dad was asleep and my mom was having a pretty bad nightmare. In the nightmare, she rolled over to my dad and he fell off the bed. When she peeked over to see if he was alright, he was dead.
This part of the bad dream woke her up, and as she woke, she heard a very LOUD "Sigh/moan" that seemed like it was whispered into her hear and comig from the entire house at the same time.
She woke my dad and asked him if he heard it. He didn't, so she asked him to check the house. He checked the house and nothing was abnormal.
As they lay in bed trying to go back to sleep at 3:30am, they both heard the "sigh/moan". This time, as they heard it, my mom noticed someone outside the window. She got down on her knees and peeked out.....there were two old women wearing formal 1920's era clothing walking arm and arm down the street.
She watched them walk down and around the corner and they disappeared.
2. This happened one night before my dad had come home from work.
My mom was doing the dishes and our cat "Buckwheat" was staring at her because he wanted fed. My mom had her hair in a pony tail and she felt someone flip her pony tail. Thinking it was my dad home from work, she turned around only to find no one there.
The cat suddenly freaked out, hair standing up and ran into the living room. He stayed on the back of the couch growling and scared.
3. My cousin and my aunt lived in a big white house down the street from me. In their basement there was a old boarded off area and my mom and her friend decided to see what was on the other side.
When the removed some of the boards they realized that it was actually a wooden door behind the planks. The removed some other extra planks and opened the door. There was an arched cobblestone room. My mom who is 5 foot 7 had to duck to get in. The room was solid with spider webs.
My mom and her friend decided to explore the room, so they wore long socks over their pants and gloves, then duct taped it all sealed.
They grabbed a broom and went inside. They soon discovered that this was no "room", but a tunnel.
They walked for 2 hours. Every so often coming to a place where the tunnel branched off.
When they returned to their basement, they shoved a large brick in front of the door. Every time they'd go down into the basement, the brick would be moved and the wooden door wide open.
They realized that this tunnel was part of the Underground Railroad to transport slaves, and everywhere the tunnel brached off, it went to the basement of another building.
4. A month after my grandfather died, my grandmother was in bed and waking up. She was not quite awake yet and she was facing the wall.
She felt my grandfather get up from bed and heard him walk down the hallway to the kitchen and get a glass. She heard the water running and him drink. She heard him ste the glass down. By this time she was wide awake, but wondering if his passing was a dream since what she was hearing seemed so normal and was very real.
She was still rationalizing the situation when she heard and felt him walk back down the hallway and felt his weight as he returned to bed.
She turned over and there was no one there and there was a glass on the sink still wet with water.

...or, I could just fuck off.
No, I don't. Just because people don't have an explaination for something doesn't mean that it's supernatural. Today we have explainations for stuff that people didn't have one for 100 years ago and I think it will be the same in 100 years and so on.
@devon: ouch! 8(
cool stories
well, i just remembered some stuff that hapenned to my mom and dad when they were recently married.
My bro is 12 years older than me, and he was still a baby back then. It was before the 80's.
Here's a bit of Brazilian History 101: the only international war that was fought on brazilian grounds was the war with Paraguay, that was a total slaughter. Back then, there was still slavery, and we were still a monarchy.
Some battles were fought on brazilian grounds, but very near to the border. And that place, still nowadays, has a big forestal reservation, a really pretty place called Pantanal.
So, back in the 70's, my dad got transfered to this "outpost" on the border. It was basically an army headquarters and a small village.
So, on that region, they have this costume of doing barbecue digging big holes on the ground, covering it with coal, lighting it, and then putting a grill a bit less deep, putting the meat on the grill and then covering it all with some big leaves, like bananatree's or something (gosh, it's really making Brazil look like banana-country, huh?! ).
So, shortly after getting there, my dad decided to do a barbecue. Then, on the day after they did that, my mom was pretty freaked out cause she had dreamnt with these rotten corpses with old army outfits comingo out of the ground and stuff like that. When she told that to my dad, guess what, he had the EXACT SAME dream.
So then later on the day he commented that with one of his workmates, who had lived there for quite a long time already, and he said "wait a sec... did you do a barbecue or dug a hole in the ground for some reason?"
and my dad said "yeah". So he asked him to wait a bit, went outside the room and asked some random corporal to go to my dad's house and cover the hole again.
Then when he came back, he told my dad that the whole region was actually one of the Paraguay war's battlegrounds, and that there were corpses of dead soldiers and slaves all around.
If that wasn't freaky enough, some time later my mom and my dad were in the living room, my mom was feeding my brother, who was still a baby, when they heard someone knocking on the door.
My dad went to see who it was, cause it was really late. Then he spent some time there, and came back.
My mom said "who was it?"
"no one, there was no one there."
"what do you mean no one? I saw you talking to the soldier"
"what soldier?"
"this soldier with a red outfit" and blablabla, described the exact outfit that was worn by the brazilian soldiers of the time.
Lot's of other stuff hapenned too, but i don't remember then
but thank god i still wasn't born

I must say i did they same.
All supernatural is natural. It's about what we're acustomed to and what we're not. It's about definitions.
About life in space. Someone said "the chances we're alone are so small they're nonexistent". Think about this: "how old is human thought?" By that I mean how old is the question: "Are we alone or is there someone else in space?" That would be max. 100.000 years. And the way we are going we soon won't be asking any questions no more. Now think what portion of the history of space do 100.000 years cover? So small it's practically nonexistent, right? To get to my point: through the history of space, which is gazillions of years, there might be certain times for certain planets where under certain conditions certain life-forms could evolve and eventually die, but to get TWO intelligent enough life-forms in THE SAME TIME and close enough to be able to discover each other, considering the vastness of space, that chance is fucking nonexistent. I mean, we've left Earth only fourty years ago! And we want to meet other inhabitants of space! The idea is so far fetched it makes the enthusiasm of some people just laughable. But since it consumes a lot of money and time and great minds, I guess it doesn't.

Exactly what I was going to say when I noticed this thread.
Have I had any "supernatural" experiences? Well a couple of hallusinations during day time while not drunk and a really cool one when I was drunk.
Ever saw a tree grow 10 meters in 5 seconds right in front of you? Through concrete? In a garage?
I'm a little confused with the meanings of Supernatural and Paranormal. I was sure they both had different meaning. Supernatural being some god, and paranormal being Ghosts and other things that go bump in the night.
I'm skeptical on both.
After my father passed away, I made myself belief that I could speak to him, and one time I could have sworn I heard his voice. I want to believe I heard him, but I know I just made it up in my head.
The mind is a very powerful tool, and you can make yourself believe anything you have ever wanted with just a little imagination.
Another mind story. I was about five or six, my father and I use to watch many horror films. One being Puppet Master. My sister was big into barbie dolls and I into Ninja Turtles. I made myself believe that all toys were evil with some secret plot to kill us all.
My sister use to leave her barbies on the floor by my bed, and I could never sleep because I feared they would kill me. I honestly made myself believe that they moved
I also had a stuffed Ninja Turtle, I use to sleep with it (about the only thing that I'll ever get to sleep with). I looked at it one night, and it eyes turned bright red. Evil as hell!! I know it cant be real because I was a child with fears, and my imagination ran wild.

You have already grasped that Sisyphus is the absurd hero. He is, as much through his passions as through his torture. His scorn of the gods, his hatred of death, and his passion for life won him that unspeakable penalty in which the whole being is exerted toward accomplishing nothing. This is the price that must be paid for the passions of this earth.- Camus
Haha! Sorry, I don't mean to make light of that, it's just that... Well, perhaps someone could have given your Dad some advice on what's appropriate for 5 and 6 year old children to watch?
As for the supernatural and all that, my humble opinion is that South Park got it right: John Edward IS the biggest douche in the universe.

Haha!! That's alright, I'm never offended. He probably shouldn't have let me watch those type of films, because now, I can't get enough of them.
I apologize if I made the thread somewhat low or depressing, I don't mean for such things. This is a great thread and everyone should have fun while posting. I was just reflecting on somethings, and I feel that it's always helpful to bring up (good) memories that seem stashed away.
