Indeed "BILD" is the dumbest fucking shitty paper available in germany. Though "dumb" is wrong, i think, they are more evil than dumb.

France attitude yesterday was more wait-and-see policy. First of all 6 or 7 of our best players had a yellow card and could be suspended for the final (Ribery, Vieira, Zidane etc). The Portugal team despite the diving skills was tough behind and too bad Henry and Ribery did not score after Zidane's penalty because I think it would have killed the game.

After games against Spain & Brazil I think the French team was a bit tired but with Thuram, Gallas, Abidal and Sagnol in defense ("the wall") we finally resisted. Portugal controlled the game most of time but they were not really decisive. Deco and Pauleta were out, Ronaldo ran and dived a lot but apart from this, nothing really impressive.

Special mention to Domenech the french coach. First of all he is from Lyon and secondly he had enough balls to carry on with his own plans while all the medias tried to destabilize him. The only thing I am a bit disappointed about is to see Trezeguet on the bench while players like Saha, Wiltord or Govou played 15/20 minutes against Spain, Brazil & Portugal. I would have loved to see more of the Henry / Trezeguet duo. Bur now, when I remember France / Switzerland, I can't really complain

Well, I don't think the game tomorrow can beat the game today.
And please tell me, if someone can find a video of the great Ronaldo-dive in the first half

There's been some talk about maybe dropping the 3rd/4th place game, but I've found it often provides more enjoyment than the Final; given that the pressure is off and the players can enjoy their football.

Schweinsteiger ruled Stuttgart last night - 2 great goals. Pity they dropped him against Italy.

Portugal at least got a goal, which I felt they deserved...as they had a lack of sympathy from the Referee - given their perceived track record in the Tournament. Germany had the potential to reach the Final, which a lot of people would have thought ludicrous before the Tournament, but Klinsmann has brought some attacking passion to the team, and he'd be a fool to step down now. They have several excellent young guys coming up and I expect Germany to be a force in Euro 2008.



Almost kept a clean sheet in what is looking like his final game for his country. Auf Wiedersehen, Titan.

Hm, the finale sucked pretty much. Even the penalties were boring as hell.
