Apparently, "Duke Nukem Forever is nearly complete and going to be released at the end of the year!" Or so a news topic ages ago on Gamespot says. (if I can remember correctly)

Threshold Studios had the rights to make a Duke Nukem movie back in the day... they ran a poll like this.

They were the ones behind that horrible live action mortal kombat series. I think they've gone bankrupt now...

Someone probably has the rights though. But they'll no doubt end up in the hands of Uwe Boll.

Doom was serious (and fucking scary, back in the day!) but Duke is more of an action/comedy style thing.

I think an extremely tongue-in-cheek film version could be quite funny...with the right leading man! Though sadly they would almost definately ruin it, I agree.
