Me and my friend Stu...sorry, my friend Stu and I, were discussing the finer points of Duke Nukem 3D and came to this one poignant question:

In a movie based on the life and times of Duke Nukem, what actor would you cast in the title role?

Some of our actors were:

Vin Diesel
The Rock
Arnie
David Hasselhoff
Sylvester Stallone
Bruce Campbell
Kurt Russel
Roddy Piper
Samuel L Jackson
Bruce Willis
Gwen Stefani

And.....Chuck Norris....

What do you think? Any obvious ones we missed? I say all this with respect to the fact that (in 3D at least) the Duke character was based on Ash from Evil Dead and characters from various John Carpenter films.

Duke Nukem Forever was announced before Google was founded. Now, Google is a billion-dollar company, and Duke Nukem Forever is... still under development.

I don't know anything about movies tho, so I'll have to skip on the official topic.

While I love Duke Nukem, you couldn't make it into a movie as it would a. be ripping off many of bruce campbell's one liners thus making it plagiarism and b. if you didn't include the awesome one liners it would be changing the movie too much...

But if I had to pick an actor I'd say Wesley Snipes... That's right, Wesley fucking Snipes :)

Snipes...good call!

I don't want them to make a movie...if they did it would be crap, no doubt. This is only a discussion on who is the most 'Duke'-like actor around.

Come on, any more?

Arnold from the 80's is 101% Duke.

In which film, in particular?

I'm thinking Commando.

Kurt Russell is Duke.....He already played Snake and Snake was Duke-esque. It would either have to be Kurt or Campbell....second thought...Campbell would kick ass as Nukem.

Nukem looks like Russell though.

Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's 'Big Trouble in Little China' is possibly the most Duke-like a single person has been.

Any more suggestions?

Ironside! Good one, love that guy. CG might work...but it would be funnier in the flesh.

Maybe: Danny Glover

(I'm not bothered about skin colour here, it is all about bad-ass-ittude)

Duke Nukem Forever was announced in 1997 or something, and still is far from finished as far as I know. That's funny, if.... well if you find that kinda stuff funny :P
