 YOU MUST TRY THIS OUT!

ok 10000 Days (wings pt2) is about 11 minutes
if you put Virgini Tres and Wings For Marie (pt1) togther that adds up to just about the same amount of time

NOW!

play these two at the same time and there is alot of stuff that is synchronised! its amazing! its gets a bit muffled at some bits but all signs point to the fact that this is supposed to happen. Virgini Tres means 23 in latin which is around 10000 days. it seems right from the beggining and the end mostly. you have to try it!

It's not amazing at all. It's mildly interesting, at best.

I was lucky enough to see them in Toronto last night.
They sounded great. Definitely top in the 3 shows I've ever seen.
Now that is ART.

Negative review of 10,000 days for anyone who is interested :D

EDIT: Excerpt

"What can I say about 10,000 Days, really? It sounds exactly and precisely like a Tool album. They might as well have not have released it at all, because anyone who’s ever heard Tool could simply imagine what a new Tool album would sound like, and this is exactly what they’d imagine. We’ve got Maynard’s trademarked wacky frontloaded cadence that makes him sound like he’s gasping out words between pauses in getting beaten up (vi oomph cari oomph ous oomph ly oomph I…). "

Every band always sounds like every band. You could never hear a Devin Townsend album and not know who it is.

And anyway, this is a different direction for Tool. Longer, more psychedelic songs that lose much of the metal attitude of their past releases and explore a freer flow.

I may mention the general tunelessness of recent Tool songs, but I’ve already predicted the result: “Yeah, ‘Doctor’ Thorpe, you try coming up with a tune in a song written in 6.35/12/3 time! Tool is too complicated for tunes!” Yes, what a plebeian I am, shackled to the concept of melody, unwilling to see the genius of Tool’s usage of lofty concepts such as lengthy meandering and endless shuffling guitar scratchings.

Good point. Meandering. And not in a good way. I don't like this album. It's boring. That's why I won't "get" the supposed genius of this album. It's boring. And Carey's drum (snare) tone sucks, as does the whole production. It's too dry, too sterile. It doesn't breath and has no power.

And no, I really like Meshuggah's "I".
