i consider myself a tool fan and ithink lateralus is their best album
but this album (one that i think is good) is in no way an innovative album.
i was expecying tool to grow but what they did in my opinion was recicle the sound of their previous albums and put a new one togheter . isee no no inovation. its just tool.

Well, I personally don't like everything about this album. But... I can't for the life of me understand how anyone describes "Jambi" or "Wings, pt 1 and pt 2" as boring. Maynard writes an honest and unflinching look at his mother's death and faith that shows incredible depth and thought and you're bored? Maynard struggles with his mother's abiding faith in a God that seems to abandon her and you're listless? Now, I recognize that he tackled a similar theme in "Judith" with APC, but these two songs are much more complex in their subject matter.

You know, I would be way more comfortable with people saying, "I am bored by this album" than "It's boring." Those are two different things. I mean, maybe it's not your taste but that's not the same as it being boring. My wife thinks Devin's music sounds like shit. Is his music shitty? No, just her taste in metal.

I think it's a great album. I think people who don't like it are boring.

i love TOOL, and that was TOOL being themselves as good as they've ever sounded, be your taste to whatever album no matter what better or not in an opinion, this is equally as good in art, creation, musicianship and production, another tool album that delivers.

Despite the fact that it absolutely rocks, i could still buy it only for the cover ;)

I really don't get why people don't like this album. Tool have been getting less angry and more abstract with each album so it was only logical for it to happen again with 10,000 Days...

Oh yeah btw if you play Viginiti Trees + Wings for Marie at the same time as you play 10,000 Days they synch up real cool, the loud and quiet parts of Wings for Marie and 10,000 Days happen at the same time and it's really quite amazing 8)

Are you also fascinated by that stupid fibonacci(sp?) sequence thing?

Just checking. A lot of Tool fans tend to read into the music far far FAR too deep. Maynard's a good musician, he's not the 9th wonder of the world.

kinda, mike patton is technically better, but Maynard complements Tool's music better

i'm trying to get the songs to synch up on audacity, they're like .05 seconds off and i can't tell which is which and if someone doesn't make me stop i'm probably gonna drive an axe through my computer in about 5 seconds

Can I fluff your pillow? *bats eyelashes*

EDIT: Right now, I'm enjoying Rosetta Stoned a fair bit. It's a decent track. Tool isn't something I can listen to all the time, I guess. Ugh and just as I type that, in come Maynard's vocals... Nearly ruin the music for me. I guess I know the real reason I don't like Tool now. It's not that I think he's a horrible singer... In fact, I thought he was great in the song Passenger by the Deftones... I just don't like how he sings in Tool. I suppose thats why I like Rosetta Stoned and the two Wing songs best on this album - he doesn't sing a whole lot.
