There's some murmuring about a next-get Freedom Fighters game...the first was an underrated, overlooked game of sheer awesomeness. That would come in 2nd to MGS4 for me, in terms of what I'm looking forward to hearing about from E3 this year.
I watched it live (via stream) earlier too. It didn't do a whole lot for me, but it was nice to really see the final details for the PS3. Some of the games (MGS4, especially) looked pretty badass, but for the most part, many of them looked like re-hashes.
Personally, I'm happy that they've decided to default back to the Dual Shock design, since I figure it to be the perfect controller (although the 360 controller is a touch or two better)...I figure, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. Also, I think that motion sensing deal is a gimmick, although it was cool to see it in action with Warhawk. And before Nintendo fanboys start screaming bloody murder, it is not a rip from the Wii. There were actually M$ and Logitech made PC controllers that came out in '99 that were based on the same exact principle. And yes, they died out quick.
I predicted that $500 pricetag...I knew Sony wasn't going to go for $700+, but anything lower than $500 would mean too much loss. I didn't forsee the "Deluxe" edition though.

The brainwashed do not know they are brainwashed.
PS3 prices:
$499 for 20GB harddisk and no HDMI (I'm guessing High Definition Media Interface? It's a very high resolution tv connector), WiFi or Memory Sticks.
$599 for 60GB harddisk, HDMI, WiFi and Memory Sticks.
Shitload of money, but they do come with a Blu-Ray player.
How much was a PS2 upon release? I think it was around 500 bucks as well, or am I mistaken?

ps2 was 300$ on release as i recall
and so was the original xbox
at that price (500-600$) i'll be sure to wait for a price drop
considering all the cool games coming to the ps2 (god of war2, bunch of final fantasies, and all those i havent had time to play yet) and the fact that new consoles are usually more buggy and problematic
and the controller gyro thing sounds like crap, i had a pc controller like that and it was a pain and useless

Nintendo's conference is over.
They put on a way more impressive show than Sony, in my opinion. The opening with Shigeru conducting the orchestra was just intense. Some amazing revelations although they were being stubborn holding back price and release date.
Also, Super Smash Bros, where are you?!
Apart from that...
Wii exclusive version of Zelda: Twilight Princess at launch!!!
Super Mario Galaxy!!!
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption!!!
Bring it on.

Blu-Ray has the porn business support, which is the reason VHS 'won' the previous round.
But I do agree. It would have been a better idea to make a PS3 with the Blue Ray drive, and one without that could actually compete with XBox 360 on a price level.

i heard the same thing about vhs winning cause of the porn support
but the idea of a ps3 without a blu-ray, and cheaper sounds awesome to me, but sonyis all about pushing the blu-ray...
one thing im wondering about is game ports
now with sony and microsoft having quite the distance between them and the nintendo console, will there still be game ports to all 3 consoles?
the reviews says the wii is barely better than the gamecube, while the ps3 is said to be 35 times faster than the ps2
that might be a problem, we'll see
