Haha! The song actually rules! I was expecting so called "metal" that is usual in these sorts of things, but this was real and awesome death metal! Quite funny lyrics too :D

I normally love adult swim. The humor is really stupid, so I'm not sure how they will portray the Devin replica. If that character turns out to be a direct spoof of Devin, and they portray him as a crazy freak, I don't know if I can watch this. But the show could be funny, and hopefully it's just a coincidence.

I recently found Brendon Small's profile on MySpace and decided to ask him about the likeness as the e-mail I sent never got a response. I got a response right away on MySpace cause I think he is on there much more.

Here's what he had to say:
hey matt.

thanks for asking about DETHKLOK. Yeah I'm a huge fan of metal too- we're gonna have fun with every style of metal including the black kind.

and yes the guy looks so much like devin that his lawyer contacted us. that pic that i posted was an early art pic- we're still tinkering with the look. ultimately i'd rather have people not confuse our show with Strapping Young Lad (though I really dig them) you know- so we're altering the bald dude and he's different looking. he still however looks very cool and metal.

also cool is that we got endorsement deals with gibson guitars, dunlops gear, and krank amps (and artist deals with line 6 and digidesign)- rad

we're in early stages but it's looking really cool. thanks again for asking about it matt.

brendon

There you go

I just saw a commerical for the show. The character that looked like Devin looks completely different now. He has a different looking beard and he has like a comb over. It kinda looked weird

From blabbermouth:
According to a posting at TV.com, METALLICA members James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett have lent their voices to another cartoon series, titled "Death Clock Metalocalypse".

Brendon Small, known for the series "Home Movies", co-created "Death Clock Metalocalypse" about a Norwegian heavy metal band called DEATHKLOK. Although they rock to the top of the charts with gusto, they are also incredibly stupid and leave a path of destruction and mayhem behind wherever they tour. The new series will premiere in August on the Cartoon Network.

METALLICA have previously lent their voices to animated shows including "The Simpsons" and "Dave the Barbarian".

Yep, the Dev character has a combover and a full beard with the goatee, that and he's their drummer. At least, from what I could tell on the deathclock preview the other night.

I found the first episode hilarious. The second, not as good, but still cool in parts.
