Shame there's never more than a couple of bands I'd like to see

There's several bands on there that I wouldn't mind seeing, but not enough bands that I'd love to see on there to get me to go, even if I did live on that side of the pond.

i know what your saying, but last year i went and had a great time, even tho most of the bands were crap. the only time we left the campsite was to watch motorhead, mastodon, helmet (twice), ozzy, meshuggah, lamb of god, anthrax, slipknot, slayer system of a down and megadeth (and watchin the skateboarders/bmx-ers falling heavily and falling often)

ok, so that lineup doesnt sound so bad, but believe me there was a ton of shitty bands in between. but to me, the band lineup this year is just as appealing and there are still more to be announced.

So the weekend ticket & camping & parking for June 9,10 & 11th costs £135.00 and im considering going back. the only bad points are the fact that bands like clutch and soilwork will have sets barely half an hour long, while the prodigy and korn will get too long.
...well that and the overpriced food/drink!

I'm giving serious thought to going to Wacken for the first time. The lineup spanks Download's.

thats true, when leaving download last year i reckoned id never be back.
plans were to go to a 'proper' metal festival.
but the thought of seeing tool in a festival setting is pretty exciting.

although, wacken does have celtic frost lined up!

wacken last year was fucking awesome! and sooo much cheaper than any british festivals, and with opeth and motorhaed confirmed too

Festivals fuck me up. I can't deal with the lack of:
- rhythm in life
- decent food
- sleep
- seating
- peace
