Synchestrta and BE are very alike in many ways... Even though Devin and Daniel are both unique in their own way.

Yes, BE is pretentious as fuck, but I love the concept. On the other side, it's hard to listen to this stuff like a normal CD. Few great and moving "standalone" tracks (I'm not musician, but their composing skills always make crushing impression on me) interrupted with many tiny bits (like mentioned god's answering machine) used to build the story.

And my favourite CD of them is probably Entropia. "One hour" is OK too. "The perfect element" leaves me just too depressed :)

How is it pretentious? I don't get it. What do they do to make it feel that way? The show? I think it's great concept and a great album. If anything is pretentious that must be Mr. Money, and hey, that's just how it is these days.. It's reality ;)
BE definitely is an opinion-breaker, and to me.. It's all good :)

Pretentious isn't necessarily a bad thing. I just mean that it's very self indulgent and the level of showmanship in the show etc (ie mr money, the costumes, the pool etc it's all very elaborate. Good for them for doing it though :)

Kristoffer Gildenlöw has left the band! They announced it at their homesite. I did not expect this at all!! I hope they can find some other great bass player.... :(

Why am I the only person to vote for one hour by the concrete lake? This was my first PoS album, but I still love listening to those songs.

I certainly think so. :) If not anything, you have to admire Daniel's vox. Simply amazing. Effortless. Actually sickening somtimes, but that's because I'm jealous.

I think a definate sub section of Devin's fans tend to like them - those who are drawn to the energy, emotional content and effort Devin puts into his music. Similarly, it is very much song/melody based.

Agreed, very much so. If you're looking for something heavy metal or thrash tho, you won't find it with PoS. Not to say they're mellow hearts and flowers all the time.

Seems to be a good concentration of DTB fans over on their forum, if that's a sign of anything.

Man I'm down right now... :( Things suck! I just wish this was a joke, and everything will be back to normal in no time. What happened is understandable, but it doesn't make it any easier. It's true, that Kristoffer isn't the heart of PoS, but it's a big part (of the machine) of it.
Oh boy.. I hope they're coll with eachothers and have no bad feelings about anything.
Pain of Salvation is the musical love of my life and this really hurts.

...
