Its peeking its head over the horizon and will be upon us shortly.

So who's going to win? Personally I'd like to see Italy win as I'm of Italian decent but AUSTRALIA has finally made it in the world cup and I'll be over the moon if we make it through the first round.

I think Brazil is going to win though.

INGERLAND!

Well, actuall, it'll probably be Brazil, but it's always fun to dream :)

Other than that, as long as it's not at England's expense I'd like to see a repeat of Euro 2004 and have an underdog do well

I seriously hope The Netherlands are going down hard. I hate Van Basten.
Is Sweden in? I was supporting Sweden during Euro 2002.

Do you hate him with passion ? If you answer is 'yes' I will ban you soon

Marco Van Basten was one of the best goalscorer of his generation and one of the best Dutch football player ever with Johan Cruyff, don't even try to argue about this.

France is my favourite because when it comes to football, chauvinism must pay. With guys like Trezeguet, Henry, Cisse, Govou and Anelka I think we should be able to see some nice football ... And if France fails, then I will hate them with passion !!!

That's not the point. I know he was a good player and I'm not arguing that. But that doesn't make him a good coach.

As a coach/manager he stinks.
The best midfielder we have, Mark Van Bommel was not in the team (not just the first eleven, not even in the 30-odd players he selects his team from) for a long long time, while he was in the form of his life.
At the same time, Van Basten adds kids who have played 5 matches in Ajax and didn't even play well. It's ridiculous what he does. Ajax backup goalie is the national backup goalie. Every kid that played a game in the reserves of Ajax has caps since Van Basten rules our national team.

He is a good coach and I disagree with you. The team finished at the top of the group for the world cup qualifications, on the Fifa World Football Rankings they point at # 3. They only conceded three goals in qualifications and Van Basten got involved a lot of young players, that's not a bad thing, that's cleverness.

Anyway, I did not feel the subtletly between your hate for 'Van Basten' the trainer and your appreciation for 'Van Basten' the player so that's why I felt confused.

I'll be supporting us Aussies first and foremost and, when they're eliminated, Italy as well. I have a few Italian mates and we always head down to Norton St at 3am and watch the games in a cafe there. Great atmosphere.

I'll also support whoever is playing England.

Yeah its fun, I dragged my mate Adam who is a rugby league fan, he got into it then started playing lots of pro evolution soccer on ps2 and xbox, now he's sooooo into it. Even to the point where he likes it more than rugby league.

I love my football (as some may know) and I hope Australia wins the world cup. I hoped we'd win it when we weren't even in the bloody thing so I'm allowed to dream. Hell, we want to be number 1 in every other sport we play in, so why not football?

Other than us I'd say it's between Brazil, Netherlands, Argentina and England. I'm a big-arsed (not literally, I have quite a tight bum) Liverpool supporter and even I shook my head when I saw Alan Smith's leg the other day. Awful stuff and not good (but far from fatal) for England's chances.

My vote has to go to the mighty Brazilians.
