The movie that fucked me up as a child was E.T....after about the hundredth time watching it, I suddenly found E.T. the most disturbing alien ever, and the most suspicious..

E.T. PHONE REINFORCEMENTS.

He was TOO nice.

Yup, Dawid Bowie was scary. Especially his pants.

I wasn't the pants.....it was the throbbing bulge. Or was that my imagination?

dont know if a dark crystal sequel would be cool or not, not unless they did it the exact same way as they made the first one but you can bet there will probably computer effects of some sort that shouldn't be there. :D but

The Henson company is going digital. I think they will still use puppets but the puppets will be used to collect digital information for animation. Or, I could be mistaken. I thought I read something about Jim Henson's son doing something like this.

Yeah...I don't feel so bad now. My childhood trauma was the exorcist. I saw it for the first time at age 7. I have seen it once in it's entirety since then (a sacrifice to get laid in highschool  ) but I cannot bring myself to even look at still imagery from the movie.

I remember when I was a kid there was a show about supernatural phenomena (Don't even remember the name of it, it was so long ago) that used footage from 'Nosferatu' as part of the title credits sequence. That grainy, pale, angular black and white bloodsucking baldy used to send me screaming behind the sofa in terror! It's funny, that film was made in the 30s and I don't think anyone's managed to put a creepier vampire to film since.

This thread has reminded me, though, that I haven't seen 'Dark Crystal' in years & years. I think my housemate's going to be missing his video for a couple of hours tonight!

I remember at a very early age, like 5 or 6 my brother made me watch the Fog by John Carpenter, and Hellraiser!

He also made me watch the excorcist at some point, and bad horrors, like Critters, and one I remember called 'The Goolies' who were creatures that came out the toilet and bit your testicles. I shat standing up for quite a while...
