Did you see the Devin Townsend Project perform Ghost at the Union Chapel in London?

Please post your reviews, setlists (if different from just the album), photos and video links here!

Thanks!

As a show in its own right, that was amazing. As the final part of this sequence of four, it was utterly incredible.

He really did pull this ridiculous thing off.

Don't have much else to say about it now - still in too much of a daze.

Setlist:
    Fly
    Heart Baby
    Saloon
    Feather
    Kawaii
    Ghost
    Blackberry
    Monsoon
    Texada
    Seams
    Infinite Ocean
    As You Were
    Fall
    Radial Highway
    Watch You

Then it ended and there was a standing ovation for about five minutes. I'm not kidding. Dev went round the whole place hugging and signing stuff, and thanking people.

I still can't quite believe all that just happened.

Today has been amazing. We got to the Chapel at 1:30pm and spent all afternoon chatting to other fans, who were all lovely. Faffy, Lettuce, DJL, and especially James, Gemma and the rest of No Redemption, it was great chatting to you all.

The show itself was the best I've ever been to, and more than made up for my disappointing view of yesterday's show. I had a perfect view of the entire band. The acoustics were incredible. Never heard a show so good. Everything was played perfectly. Throwing "Saloon" at the end of "Heart Baby" was a great touch. "Feather" bought a single masculine tear to my eye, as it always does, because it reminds me of my relationship. "Ghost" was perhaps the best performance of the evening. Devy doing a circuit of the room, up and down the pews, during "Texada" was awesome. The encores were brilliant too, especially "Watch You". During the one heavy part (the cymbal crash and yell during the "Stand" reprise), the first few rows jumped in surprise. Hope the cameras caught that moment!

Afterwards, Dev walked around the room, shaking hands and saying thanks. We must have applauded him for five minutes or more. He shook my hand, saw my tattoo and said "Thanks so much, buddy". Such a nice guy. I got interviewed by the camera guy outside, too. Hopefully it'll show up on the DVD, just to prove to my cousin that I actually did attend these shows! He thinks I'm making it up...

Still buzzing. It's been a brilliant week, and tonight was by far the best. Shame it's over. I'm looking forward to the clinic and acoustic gig in Leicester next week - hope to see some forum people there again - and then I'll be plonking money down for the Retinal Circus on Friday!

So glad it was incredible, but I expected nothing less. Dev... words seriously can't describe him. I so wish I could have experienced it, but I'm more than happy so many did. Can't wait to see some pics and videos. And he played Saloon!!!!!!! That's the song I've been looking forward to most from Ghost II. Ah!

I wasn't there and I've never had the pleasure of seeing Devy perform in person but I would like to take this moment in time to thank him, his family, the band and everyone who helped make this run of shows possible. It's clear that Devin has made quite a sacrifice over the last number of years (including the making of the wonderful music itself) to pull this off. It seemed lately that he has been understandably stressed with putting everything together and its great to hear the reaction to its successful completion was exceptionally gracious. :D

Perhaps we should start a thread for saying thanks to him and all involved?

Wow. Must have been incredible to see him walk around thanking everyone.
When I saw him 2 years ago with Between the Buried and Me he was SUCH a nice person so soft and caring about everyone that was crowding around him.
He gave guitar picks to people, feeling sorry 'cause he couldn't give more than 8-9 and I kinda got said to me : well it's all right, I won't get a pick blah blah and he just stopped at me and gave me one. I made him sign my copy of Ocean Machine and City, telling him that OM was THE album of my whole life and he thanked me and told me that We are the ones that are making it possible and just before I left I asked him to say a big ''Indeed'' to me. He held my hand with both of his and looked me right into the eyes and said a big Indeed in the most Ziltoidian way.

I'm totally getting lost with my point (or maybe there never was a point) but yeah Dev is my main inspiration as a musician and I won't deny that he is an influence as a human being to me. So yeah : Thank you Devin for all that you've been doing for the last 20 years, you are an exquisite human being.

Echoing the sentiments of some of the posts above...

I'm really, really, really happy for Dev that he was able to to pull these four shows off - from just what I've read here, I can tell this was almost certainly a career-defining moment for him. Having been around as a fan since (roughly) the start of the DTP, seeing it reach it's 'climax' like this is really special. Of course I'm gutted that I wasn't able to make it to London for any of the festivities, but I'm sure the DVDs will take some of that pain away, haha. I've seen him twice in Cleveland (both times ranking among the best shows I've ever been to), so I can't even imagine how awesome these four were; from the material played, to the atmosphere, to the intimacy between the band and the crowd... the list goes on. As I said, I'm really happy for you, Dev - and I'm really glad that I (and so many other people) have all been able to come along for the ride, in some form or another. It's already been a hell of a journey (something I can't say about too many other artists and their work), and yet, somehow... I get the feeling this is the the start of something even bigger; not just an ending. Someday, if I get lucky enough to meet you, I'll take the chance to thank you properly - for now, though, let this 'thanks!' right here do.

Absolutely outstanding, and turning up early meant we could grab awesome seats with a perfectly clear view of the whole stage. Deconstruction was disappointing because we were off to the side and too close so we couldn't really get into it and could only hear bass and drums, which is a shame because if we'd been closer to the centre I think it would have been amazing. Last night more than made up for it though, utterly magic. The heavy crash during the Stand section of Watch You scared the hell out of me and gave me mega goosebumps, so glad they played that track.

I had an utter mind blank at what to say when he got round to us at the end so I dived in for a hug and told him to take a holiday for a change to which he replied 'Soon man, soon.' Here's hoping those DVDs are all edited and released in time for the new year, I can't wait to relive them all.

Ghost and Ki were simply the best gigs I've ever been to.

Utterly unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I've seen classical stuff in a church before... But this venue was stunning. It was chilling, magical, and... haha... Stellar. There didn't seem to be a dry eye in the house, either... Just thinking back to that astoundingly long standing ovation we gave to Dev makes me well up a bit. A perfect, perfect way to end the four nights - and Watch You was a dream come true. Again, perfection in terms of the last song to be played- it has it all, it feels like a conclusion. I fucking had a heart attack at that cymbal crash too! I looked over and saw Steph did too! And well done to Matt who I think began the 2nd half of the 6? minute applause. It was dying down, then he was like, 'DEV! *clapclapclap*' which started it all up again.

Hazlitt was a wonderful opening act too, and also... TEA, ICE CREAM AND DEVIN TOWNSEND. Hoping that the taste of tea will bring me back to that gig again :D An excellently English way to observe a gig. Mikes visuals were spellbinding too, though I didn't want to take my eyes off the guys on stage sometimes I was just being taken somewhere else by ghost... During one song, can't remember what, but the four of us in our spot (Louise, me Ruth and Cody) were all looking up at them for a good while.

Kat Epple was doing the female vocals, splendidly, and the many wind instruments throughout the night - don't think anyone mentioned that she sang a bit yet. The acoustics were haunting, they put you in another place... It's going to take me a long time to process these last few weeks. With all the exhaustion helping Violet, going to Damnation - all the early rises and late nights to get good spots - I'm drained mentally and physically... And meeting some of the most excellent people in the world. You guys all made it as awesome as it was as much as Dev did. The No Redemption guys were great to hang out with during the long queue wait, you guys are awesome and need to get KNOWN.

Unbelievable is all I can say. The culmination of all 4 nights ending in that amazing church and the genuine appreciation from the crowd during the standing ovation at the end that just never seemed to stop was unlike anything I've witnessed at a live performance before. So pleased I was on the isle and got to shake his hand and thank him for it too. Amazing 4 days. Cant wait for the retinal!

Totally agreed! They kept my girlfriend and I company for six hours, and made the time fly by. Gemma (the singer) kept offering me a spare hoody because I looked cold, bless her!

Dunno if it was just me, but the endless applause at the end felt like we weren't just applauding that show, or even the four shows, but the whole damn career.

Still don't have my head straight from that show.
