-Neurosis and Jarboe
-Pig Destroyer
-Mr Bungle the bends, as someone else already noted
-Slayer, if in the right mood
-Atari teenage riot (god, what a racket)
-Budhist monk death chants ("om chant"? what's it called?)
-Toru Takemistu, a japanese film score-composer. Has worked often with Kurosawa, has some extremely eerie and unnerving music. sends chills up the spine.

Fantomas i find funnier than disturbing... just sounds like patton is having too much fun making those noises

Good pick on Piss Angel, that talking at the end of it really creates a dark atmosphere, especially when it is done and there's that singing going on.

Eminem - its disturbing to know the amount of influence he has over the masses who follow him and how irresponsible he is.

I've always loathed the idea that people in the limelight must judge every action in case some wacko's imitate and do crazy things. I prefer to beleive that people are responsible for their own actions and blaming artists is a cop out.

That said i don't like eminem.

yeah that video is really crazy you can find it at youtube.com if you want. If your a fan of wierd japanese films you'll probably like it though, i thought it was really crazy though.

I think for me one of my favorite songs is "worlock" by skinny puppy that song is kind of creepy to me but i love it especially the vocoder chorus. The vid is really wierd also it's also at youtube.

Hell yeah....I always look forward to the vocoder chorus when I hear that song!

Another disturbing song by Skinny Puppy or anyone for that matter...is Brak Talk. That song gives me the creeps! The lyrics are sung in like 3 different ranges at once and the samples are creeped out.

Personally I wouldn't consider much of the music mentioned in this topic disturbing. I can relate to angry/bitter/depressing 'weird' music.

It's some of the stuff that scales the charts freaks me out.

Murder, death, sexual fetishes... these are banal hollow fantasies compared to some of the emotionally callous scenarios of pop anthems. Hell, something like REM's "The One I Love" is more evil than anything spawned by a metal band's imagination.

I had "withering to death" on just before not disturbing just cool.; Now i know i say this at every chance i get but Michael Gira and the mighty Jarboe have had some damn disturbing moments. Mainly Michaels book "The Consumer" disturbing work of genius.

Also danny elfman goes pretty far out on some of the oingo boingo lyrics.

Devlaaaaab....

Some Tool
Devil Doll
Dystopia
this doom band called Until Death Overtakes Me... Haven't really gotten into it, but I suppose their album "Prelude to Monolith" could fuck you yp.

And, norwegian rock band Seigmen with the track "Manifest". Now that's a mindfuck...

Yup, Devlab is up there.

Someone mentioned Neurosis & Jarboe, add that too.

This one Cecil Taylor song freaked me out when I first heard it a long time ago...

Merzbow maybe?

Meh :P

Alot of the songs on Pink Floyd - The Wall can seem disturbing when accompanied by the movie's visuals, like In The Flesh?, and Comfortably Numb mostly, like when Pink is melting and pulling away a coat of melting flesh to reveal an almost Nazi-like uniform (new flesh!), hmm, In The Flesh is right after Comfortably Numb, was All Hail the New Flesh inspired slightly by The Wall?

Hamburger Lady by Throbbing Gristle

Before that the only industrial I'd heard was NIN.

It actually gave me nightmares and I was 17. Bonkers!!

Another one is Happy New Year by Orchestra of Skin & Bone. It's an experimental piece that lasts for easily 20 minutes. I was pretty stoned and it was late and dim lighting. Jeez!! Talk about getting the fear!!
