Sorry if this has been done before but I'm curious as to what everybody's first Devy album was. My first was Terria followed be Ocean Machine, Infinity, Accelerated Evolution, Physicist.

If you want, also include your initial reaction to your very first listen.
When I first popped Terria in, I knew absolutely nothing about it. A lot of people on the dream theater boards recommended it so i decided to take a risk. I loved it from the very first song and listened to it all night. A very memorable experience

My first Dev's album was Infinity.

I went to my favourite Cd store and the owner gave me a copy of Infinity... "You'll love it. Check it out!". I looked at that crazy cover with that guy naked and thought "Oh God... What the fuck is it?". Then I wore the headphones and played the cd.

...

UNBELIAVABLE!

I never heard a sound like that before.

After only 3 minutes I went back to the shop's owner and told him "Great!! I buy it!!".
He smiled to me and said "No doubt about it."


From that day I became a huge fan of Dev.

Physicist was my first record from Devin.
I can't remember why...I downloaded a track from Physicist, and it just blew me away. Day after, I bought the record, and I thought that everything of Devin sounded like this
I was in for a surprise when i heard Mountain on a Demo-CD which came with a music-magazine... after that bought Terria, and then I became a huge fan, and had to have everything.

i first listened to his songs on mp3.com on a whim, bought AE a week later, and then about 3 months later i bought every single other thing he released in about a month

Ocean Machine... I remember going to Scrape Records in '98 to buy it... Ah, good times!

Ocean Machine. I got them in the order they came out. That's what happens when you've been a fan since HAARHT...

Mine would be "Physicist".

But actually, when I think about it, my first copy of "Physicist" was a burnt CD, but after I've heard it, the first thing I did after school the day after was going out and buy the CD!

I actually found "Terria", too, while looking after "Physicist", sp I gave it a spin while I was at it...

It ended with that I took both albums home with me...

I voted Infinity but I'm not sure since it was back in 1998 or 1999 that I've purchased Infinity and OM. It's either OM or Infinity but both were bought in the same period.

The order I got mine is was......

Accelerated Evolution
Terria
Ocean Machine and Infinity (both at the same time)

I was in HMV for about half an hour trying to decide whether to get OM or AE! In the end, I decided on AE. The second album I bought was Terria. I was going to get Ocean Machine, but Terria was really cheap so I bought it. I decided I couldn't stand living without OM and Infinity for much longer, so I got them from HevyDevy .

The first was City but ... Here its about DTB , so infinity , Ocean machine , infinity ep , Physcist , terria and acelerated evolution...

I got OM at the same time as the bootleg. But I have had my filthy, virtual hands on all of 'em, or at least most songs, for a much longer time.
