Boks are always better than films...the only one I don't think that about is Forrest Gump.....It must have been a particularly difficult job to cut down the lord of the rings for film, and don't really think they could have done it better

The Fellowship of the Ring

I went with Fellowship mainly because it is most like the books. I personally think Peter Jackson didn't do the greatest job with the movies, I love them all, but he could have made them so much better. Just read the books and you'll see what I mean.

I've also always been a lord of the rings movie and when I heard Peter Jackson got the gig, I was happy.

Did he fuck it up? In my opinion no. I believe he really did capture the feel of the book, the way it is described to me in the book is the way I saw it on the movie. So he did very well there.

Like I said before though, my only gripe is that there's bit chopped out. That's not Peter Jackson's fault, that's the fault of marketing.

i have yet to see return of the king but have read it three times, so for now, two towers my favourite but i'm willing to bet that i'd liek return of the king the best, it being my favourite book.

Oh the hours I wasted on that game without ever beating it. My brother beat it though...odd man.

That's quite the commitment !!!! A good 10-12 hours of movie watching...... I know one of these days, when I get the time, I'll do the same ! It would be really cool to see the whole story (extended versions) in one sitting....

I think they were doing that over here in kiwi land(playing all 3 at once at the cinema).I didn't go,but i wish i had now.
Anyway my fav would have to be the first one for some reason.It blew me away when i first saw it.I didn't catch the 2nd one at the movies,which is maybe why i didn't enjoy it as much.Still all good though.Mr Jackson did a great job and i'm that--->[____] much prouder of being from New Zealand now ..can't wait for King Kong!.I here it's coming along nicely.Say is there anyone else from New Zealand on here? or am i the only one..

my favourite of the lord of the rings BOOKS would have to be book 3. Not only does it end with all the glory you saw on the movie version however there is a whole lot more afterwards.

Definitely one of the best books I've read, I strongly recommend everyone reads it... I have the audio book as mp3s if anyone is interested, its pretty good.

as for the movies the first one was very good, it had AMAZING scenery but lacked somewhat of the character development, but with 10 characters and a lot of stuff to cover its hard. The second one was the best, long fight scenes with the scenery still there, and by the end of it i was like "omfg that was 3 hours already"(just like i was with the first one)

the third one however fell short. Not only did it seem to just slog from one battle to the next, but nothing knew was introduced in the battle scenes style, leading to a somewhat boring movie in my opinion. not to mention the end dragged on and i actually left early(around the scene with too much white)... it had its moments but everything it had to offer was already covered in the first 2 movies(not to mention they left out the scouring of the shire!)

Mr Jackson did a great job and i'm that--->[____] much prouder of being from New Zealand now
