Should America bitch about other countries till those get a eating disorder? Girls are just as evil, but with different methods.

Again, I refer to the Bitchess Thatcher and the Falklands.

Besides, I said I think what the stand for is evil.

You know, such things as being pro-life, tax cuts for the rich, pushing OUR troops into the "triangle of death", the fact that they refuse to accept the UN apart from when it suits them (this includes refusing to sign the "UN Convention on the Rights of the Child Act 1990" which only one other country in the world wouldn't sign upto, Somalia, great country to have something in common with), their "clear skies initiative" is just bollocks... but worst of all, their fuckery foo with immigration has kept me and my wife apart for almost a year.

On November 2nd, I will be praying (with the rest of the civilised world) to all that is good and holy that they kicked out of office.

totally agree with you. Except for the "evil" thing. I think that´s a pretty crappy word to use IMO. I would rather describe right wingers as extremely old fashioned and blinded by their idiologies. And I mean right wing people in general. They are simply not able to make up their mind because their faith in their idiologies is so big. Just look at Bush. In the last debate he just couldn´t admit that he has made mistakes because he thinks that admitting any kind of failure is a weakness and a sign of inconsitency. But he´s not consitent, he´s simply stubborn and not able to make up his mind. But does that make him evil? I don´t think so. He´s just blinded and unfortunately in power.

Bush is funny. Took a leaf out of Goebbels propaganda and proved the world that human kind hasn't become critical to simple propaganda. And proved that voters have 2 week memory span.

Who does even remember these things:

-Hunting Osama down in Afghanistan
-Disarming Saddam from WMD
-9-11 attackers were Saudi Arabian.

Who cares? 5000 billion flys cant be wrong, bullshit is good enough.

Oh cool. I tend to lean to the right more than the left, I'm American and I'm a female. I'm tripple evil!

And to think this whole time I thought I was a good person...at least trying to be one. I'm so glad there are so many more "enlightened" people on this board to point out just how evil I really am.

How much do pitchforks run these days?

Do you mind explaining why you tend to lean more to the right than to the left? Because I am all the way on the left, as left as they get probably, and I have always found most of the things they stand for old-fashioned and sometimes a little discriminating. So, I'm just curious which arguments you agree with, from the right.

Well...honestly I think me doing that would only lead to others pointing out how wrong I am, considering I am probably the only right-leaning person on this entire board. I keep asking myself why the hell I opened up my big mouth in the first place a couple months ago by proclaiming myself Republican (even thought I'm a moderate, maybe even more of an Independant). Oy. I would even go as far as to say that most Americans are moderates and too many people running for office are too far on either side.

So, I think I have to politely decline at this point. :)

well, I don´t think you´re the only Republican here...4 people voted for Bush in the poll so there must be at least 4 more. But you seem to be the only one who has the balls (metaphorically) to admit it in this forum :)

If you believe in something enough to vote for it, then you should easily believe in it enough to defend it in a public forum. There is no shame in announcing what you feel is right, the only shame is in knowing what is right and refusing to speak up. You never know, perhaps your views and opinions can sway others who are on the edge and or make others with opposing ideas see what you believe in a different light. It may not change how they are going to vote, but the idea isn't to get people to radically shift their choices but rather to educate them.

I'm curious myself to know of some of the motivations a person would have for voting for Bush. You certainly seem like an intelligent person and I don't believe you have the traditional "Well, Bush is simply more likable" approach to politics. I don't think that there is much that is going to change my perspective on the race, but perhaps you can say something that may soften the blow for myself and others if Bush does win. Give us something positive to look for! :D Remember, if your convictions for this election are fragile enough that you fear the outcry of a few people on a Devin Townsend forum, then perhaps they aren't as solid as they should be. In any case, this is arguably one of the most important Presidential elections in the history of this country and as much free debate and exchange of ideas as possible should be encouraged. Once this election is over, no one is really gonna care if one person voted for Bush or another voted for Kerry. We are all music fans here and will have more pressing matters to concern ourselves with (SYL DVD, CD). For now though, we might as well let the cannons roar and speak the free political voice that our country has given us the right to do. Anything else and we would be letting the terrorists win. ;)

Or it's just blue raja voting 4 times, just to get the number up :)

But seriously, like Ephel said, it's a forum. I promise to behave and discuss like a good boy.
