Sorry but I am a total Anneke fanboy and the production quality is (obviously) better so I dig the intended version of Fallout.
Also, tracking says my bundle should arrive Friday. Fingers crossed that I don't turn into a poozer beforehand.

I'm give and take with Anneke. I loved her in the Gathering..sometimes. It's the same story here: I love her as part of the DTP..sometimes. I haven't heard either version of Fallout yet, though I have downloaded the Dev version for reference when the time comes. So we'll see if I prefer one over the other when I get the order.

Pretty much as I feared. Devin's version of Fallout is basically the Kingdom of the album. It's just not got the raw oomph with Anne on vocals. Bit of a blow that I'm going to be stuck with only a 192k rip of the superior version.
Y'know I'm starting to come round to the idea that this might be his best album yet. Listening to the final mix you can really hear bits of Ocean Machine, Accelerated Evolution, Synchestra, Addicted and Ghost. Rain City through to the end in particular is just crammed with that atmosphere.
People saying that this feels like a bunch of Epicloud bonus tracks haven't listened carefully enough. This blows Epicloud out of the water, and I'm saying that as a fan of Epicloud.

Quick question to those who have heard it, does it have a narrative track in to track flow? I have the Vinyl pre ordered but I'm now wondering if the side/record changes might ruin that flow?

I'm glad that Devy doesn't feel the need to compete in the loudness wars and brickwall his masters. My stereo has a volume knob, so I can turn it up as loud as I need!

Maybe he learned something from Epicloud, especially the new version of Kingdom.

It obviously won't flow as it does on CD. However, having now stated the obvious, I think what we'll experience on vinyl will be "acts," per se. So the story will be broken up into four acts. The narrative works well enough that way. It does have certain very brief pause points even on the CD, that were probably put there on purpose with vinyl in mind. I think it will have a different effect. But that may not necessarily be a bad thing. It may create more anticipation... to flip the record to the next "act."

I received confirmation of shipment today.
