Whoa, this is so heavy! And unbelievably cheesy!

Sky Blue? Yeah, that´s what I was trying to say. :)

Dark Matters just doesn´t do anything for me.

A soundtrack? Maybe I should try and think of it as one. Should be easier with the version that has no dialogue..

I second this. Universal Flame's still really bad, but a lot of those early Dev vibes found their way into Sky Blue, which is what I liked about Epiclouder. Maybe a bit straightforward, but yeah.

Interesting double album release - I've been listening to a lot of Faith No More lately because my mind and heart is currently in the Bay Area (Go Giants!) so it's rather hard from me to break into something that's so different besides the wall of sound.

I don't think either album will crack my top 5 of his, but it's better than I had worried for sure!

In fact, I'll post something I printed at work in tribute.

so alot of the retinal circus dvd menu music made it on to Dark Matters. i can't get enough of this album.
Sky Blue is the first time i have nothing to say about a Devin album other than it feels like a bunch of really bad epicloud outtakes. oh well first time he's disappointed me out of 15 albums, not bad.

Innit, I did a comparison, it just sounds so thin in comparison, vocals are drowned out and drums are not as strong as the final mix.

Still haven't even been tempted by the leak. Maybe I am alone in this, but does anyone else feel like it just tends to sound better when you wait for it? I don't know, but actually having what I ordered in my hands and putting it in, having waited the whole time for it, I tend to appreciate the music more. Maybe I'm just old school.

I got the leak.

I love both albums! Wow! Great stuff!

Fave tracks so far have to be "Forever" on Sky Blue, and "March of the Poozers" on Dark Matters.

Awesome stuff!

Cheers Dev!

I listened to the leak, too.
I have mixed feelings on the Sky Blue record but I'm going to wait the definitive mix before giving any rating.
Volumes here are actually fucked up, i can clearly notice that.

To all of you who said "the real work is way different", thanks for the confirmation. :D
Looking forward to it

This is what I'm hoping for, I LOVE Epiclouder, probably listen to it 10 times more than Epicloud itself; I would even consider Epiclouder among his best.

I've listened to Dark Matters but I will wait for the release to listen to Sky Blue. I was blown away by the beginning but got lost somewhere after Deathray. This album is definitely a grower, I didn't understand Deconstruction at all after the first listen, and I think it's the same situation here.
