For anyone who doesn't know, the date / cover art (?) are on a tour poster Century Media tweeted yesterday. Interestingly this is billed as DTP again - probably a marketing decision more than anything, but still interesting.

On a sidenote, anyone else feel like this might be Dev's last foray into SYL / Deconstruction type chaos for the near future? After this I dunno if he'll make music this crazy again, what with his interest in mellowing out / playing bass more / etc. This might be the end of an era (the same way the original Ziltoid was the start of an era)

One of the two discs is DTP. Given that half of the new album is, continuing to use that label and (amazing!) logo probably makes the most sense as far as visibility goes. Dev's solo (non-DTB, non-DTP) stuff never really had a consistent logo, which can probably be really helpful when trying to market a tour.

As for your thought, I think it might be his last concentrated, purposeful effort for awhile; he'll always have a heavy side that comes through in ways. (Deathscope from Casulties comes to mind.) On another note, I think a lot of his frustration that he is tired of having to wade through is with complexity. Quiet albums like CoC, Ki, and Ghost have their own challenges in editing, but they are altogether more simple and easy on his mind.

As of a recent tweet flood, he wants to take a break off for a year completely. To renew himself. I think it's a marvelous idea. You can't work as hard as he does for as long as he does without deserving/needing some kind of break for mental recovery.

I just found out Chris Jericho is going to be on this record. Would it be too much to ask if Ziltoid gets put into the Walls of Jericho by Captain Spectacular?

Welcome! As far as I'm aware no details have been released about whether any different versions are going to be made? Since the release is October 28th (less than 2 months!) I think more news will come soon though!
