Great show! It was sold out, but luckily my friend is a promoter who knows The Atlas Moth, so I got in for free on the guestlist.

Devin was solid as usual...the sound was a bit muddy and it was hard to hear the guitars (I think they were having PA issues, soundcheck went on for nearly an extra half hour before the show), but the whole spectacle was high-quality, as expected. I think the set was basically the same as he and the band have been playing everywhere else:
Truth
Supercrush
More!
Planet of the Apes
Lucky Animals
Juular
Grace

A few extra tidbits: there was a six-or-seven year old girl (in a Dio shirt) with her parents in the front row, and Devin had her come onstage before Lucky Animals to show the audience how to do jazz hands. Later, he told her to cover her ears while he made jokes about weed and his mother's "glove compartment-sized vagina." Pretty funny! Also, the ZTV playlist before his set began had some pretty corny/dated videos, but it was all atoned for when the legendary Hoogie Boogie Land video started playing. One of my all-time favorites!

While I was chatting with my friend and the members of The Atlas Moth after the show (they seemed like cool guys), Devin came out of the venue to bring something onto his bus. We chatted for like thirty seconds. My friend noted how many times he'd seen DTP, so Devin promised to "change the setlist eventually" and made a crack about how after two years of touring he sounds like Marge Simpson when he sings Kingdom. Then he went over to talk to some more fans who were waiting outside the bus.

Oh yeah, and Gojira were awesome! The stage lighting was really great (it was often timed to match up with pick scrape noises, humorously). In the middle of Wisdom Comes, Joe and Mario switched places, which was fun. All the new material sounds really good live, especially the title track and The Gift of Guilt, which was an encore. Joe's voice holds up very well live, which surprised me because his vocal style seems really taxing.

Overall, it was certainly one of the best shows I've ever seen for free!
