Epicloud Review: (purchases at Seattle show)

One part Addicted. One part Infinity. One part "Spirituality". And one part something totally new. In short, it's absolutely emotionally overwhelming. And I dare you not to get the chorus to "Liberation" stuck in your head for a week.

Listening to the samples and listening party I got a bit of a Strapping feel to it actually. I don't quite know how to articulate it, but it feels similar to City in its overwhelming and very distinct atmosphere. Angel definitely makes me thing of Spirituality for some reason; despite being opposite ends of the spectrum.
Two sides of the same coin if you will.

Yeah its' overwhelming sonically in the way Alien and City was...where it feels like something crushing you...but it feels more like um...a giant beautiful warm angel hugging you instead of a tank running over you. The whole idea of a huge epic positive heavy album....Dev nailed it. But yeah, you got it man. It's like the ying to the yang. Like how Thalamus and Spirituality are huge and crushing and soar but are darker...this is like the way Truth, Dynamics, etc all are giant explosions of light filling you up.

Flawless album.

I'll say this about a few of the tracks....because without Devin talking over them they have a whole different life...

"Angel" - if you've ever been in love or say, kissed a girl you have been madly in love with for the first time...this track's opening might speak to you in a way that defines how timeless that moment is. Like how time slows down and you're bursting with emotion? Yeah....this track.....

"Liberation" - ROCK! LET'S ROCK! THE TIME HAS COME TO FORGET ALL THE BULLSHIT AND ROCK! Best lyric of the year. When the chorus hits it's more energetic than an electrical storm.

"Grace" - Proof Devin's music needs to only be played in arena's, not nightclubs. It's just too huge for a small room. This might be Dev's biggest track since "Truth". I think he's going to push for it to be "his signature track". It has that singalong quality that crowds will die for.

Those are my favorites as of today. That might change.

Less than a week til that baby is in my hands! Woot!

As much as I love hearing Dev's absolutely incredible commentary, I can't wait to hear it without it. Liberation... ohmuhgeez I can't wait. That song makes me so happy. And I think I'll be able to digest Grace a lot better when it's on it's own.

If only these guys would give it away, 'cause goddamn I need it.

Furreal. I mean, if I hypothetically checked my PM box and it was there, then you know, whatever right?
