Oh and ! To that guy who said Dev should wear skin-tight jeans, there's the old SYL promo video from 1995 where Dev appears in his undies.
Sexy as hell :)

We'll get teasers soon enough, I imagine. Only 2 months and a bit to go.

Great choice! Hard for me to pick a favourite. Rush is definitely up there (thus my username), but the fact that Devin is such a talented musician that can seamlessly run through different genres makes me hold him in really high regard. On top of that, he's such a down to earth person and always willing to go out on a limb and talk to the fans, which is great :D

Dev is easily my number 1.

The music alone ensures it but his personality locks it in. His humour, on-stage banter
(like the way he doesn't always introduce songs the same way. A lot of artists are doing
that and it really grinds my gears), his interactions with the fans and all that he does for
us and above all; his honesty. This makes him number one in my book.

Then you have Mastodon, Queen, Meshuggah, Mike Patton (mainly Bungle and FNM)
and Pantera fighting for the remaining 4 slots because Strapping goes under Devin
thus making the list easier to make.

ON TOPIC: Can't wait for Epicloud! :D Anneke's interview made me really stoked although I'm
a bigger fan, personally, of Devin's voice and would much rather have all him as I generally tend
to like the way he sings the stuff more. Hyperdrive with Dev owns doubly much and after hearing
Trainfire on By a Thread I like the end part a lot more when he is singing it. But that is of course
only my own personal, selfish taste and Anneke is in reality a beast of a singstress with beauty to
match so I will just shut the fuck up now and quietly go away.

I'm not sure if that's what you meant, but Anneke didn't sing on Ki.

Yeah, I know I was ranting and "in the moment" so I probably could've been a bit clearer.

Agree with Lettuce... I don't know how many of you follow Dev on Twitter, but Epicloud has not been delivered to the record company because he is still mixing it. Dev also says that he is surprised to find he has written a pop record and that it surprises him further that he likes it so much. He also says, "try before you buy" and that we may want to wait to buy Casualties of Cool or Z2.

For my part, I have bought everything Dev has put out in the last 15 years, at least. I love almost all of it. Based on what Anneke has said, Epicloud is likely to be brilliant. I think Dev is being Dev about this. I enjoy Ghost and Ki nearly as much as I enjoy Deconstruction and Addicted. I am positive I will enjoy Epicloud.

I feel a bit bad for him, though, on the mixing. It sounds as if his perfectionism is really kicking in. The album is affecting him in existential ways. He wrote, "Do I not know myself?" and also, "Where am I? Who am I?" He says he doesn't understand his current music yet, nor his motivations for making it. Says he feels like two different people. And, he describes Epicloud as "commercial as all get out."

Personally, I think it's gonna be awesome and I can't wait to hear it.

He told me that after making two such complicated records, he expressed the need to make something commercial and easy; which has ironically been difficult to get right. He absolutely loves it, but doesn't think it's for everyone. At the end of the day, you can never make everyone happy, but you can always make yourself happy C:
