Official release date is September 18th for N Am and September 24th for Europe but anyone attending the Epic Kings & Idols tour in the US will be able to either pre-purchase a signed CD + GA ticket bundle, have a signed CD included in the VIP package or simply buy an unsigned copy at the merch stand. Tour starts September 4th so that's two weeks before the official release in the US. Only the standard jewel case will be on sale earlier so Limited Edition 2CD and vinyl won't be on sale until official release dates.

Which means Australia will get it somewhere in between. Hey, something to look forward to. Especially the 2CD version.

The way Anneke describes Epicloud is just breathtaking. She almost cried when singing it! I know that Devin never dissapoints us with his music, but this really takes any form of doubt away. And of course, since Devin has no flow control valves built in ( :D ), there will be a double album again. Nice!

Oh my god, this album will be a BEAST! Please, let it be September already...

Good to know: Just two weeks before Eplicoud is released, Aeon Zen will release their new album Enigma. Another good reason to look forward to this magical month!

More likely to have these type of bundles up on Omerch as that's Devin's official merch store. Then again, these days bundles are very popular so it's likely that different stores will have different bundles.

It definitely will be worth the wait and from what Devy and Anneke have been saying about the album, maybe Devy will get a little boost in awareness/sales/fans? Also hoping the Katatonia and extensive Fear Factory tour will produce some more HevyDevy awareness/fans/sales.
He definitely needs it over here in the states!!

I understand, on one hand, wanting to share the love of Dev with others, and I completely understand wanting Dev to have success. But, I think he was on the cusp of this with SYL a few years back and he deliberately stepped away from it. I think of the main things making Devin happy these days, aside from sobriety, is the freedom to make whatever album he feels like making. The more fans he gets, the more pressure there will be to make "Addicted II" or "Epiclouder." I don't think Devin wants more success, in some ways. I think he wants to be who he is doing what he is.

Honestly, Devin is always going to be a bit of a cult artist. How many other fan bases would buy the DTP Quadrilogy and not give him reams of shit for Ki not being like Ziltoid or Addicted not like Ki or Deconstruction being too chaotic and not like any of them and what the fuck is Ghost about anyway? Flute? Flute? That's not metal!!!

Ah Ih! should have been a massive hit. It's a beautiful song. But, it couldn't be because it's got too much Dev in it. I have played Dev for "normal" people and they don't get it. It's too dense, too complex, too different. Mainstream audiences don't want Devy in their life. And, I think that's okay.

I think as long as Dev has the money to support his family and live the life he wants then that is enough success for him. This is me putting words into his mouth and I shall promptly fuck off if I have got it wrong. I also think that the level of success he has is what allows him to do the Quadrilogy... Then Epicloud, then maybe Z2 or maybe Casualties of Cool and, oh, hey, let's do a box set of the shows I did in London, and, oh, is it cool if Epicloud is a double album? Yeah? Great.

A bigger fan base would have executives asking him to repeat his success. I have a feeling that Devin is not interested in repeating himself. Or maybe I should just fuck off.

Devin has said a few times that more success would be great. He wants more people to hear his music, and he'd like to be able to fund whatever he wants to do. He's not very keen on the fame part, but he's been working on that over the years.

Great. Now I have to fuck off. Oh well, it has happened to better people.

Thanks for the clarification, sir. I now recall hearing those same things. Personally, I don't see Devin being much more popular than he is. I think his music is too true and honest to himself to be drawing a much larger audience. I might be wrong about that too. For all I know, Epicloud is truly amazing and it will get a bunch of new fans. I know that I will love the album. But, I am not sure that it will pick up a lot of new fans.

I think, as cliche as this might be, that Frank Zappa's and Devin's will show similar trajectories. I think Zappa was very successful, obviously influential, musically honest, and never really got mainstream success. There was "Valley Girl" but otherwise, none. And, I think that, still, Zappa is considered very successful. But, for that matter, Devin has probably already enjoyed more mainstream success than Zappa.
