Totally in on the group hug for Dev, you've created something beautiful here good sir. Only two listens in on a low quality rip but I'm mesmerized. So much atmosphere here. Lettuce, those experiences sound amazing, I really want to listen to this baby in both those situations (sunrise, and the night). Luckily I live in a forest so having some nice environments for this album shouldn't be too hard. Now you stated that peoples favorites change but you didn't state what your favorites were :P. Did the different environments change which ones you preferred? Ex. were Dark Matters/Infinite Ocean more intriguing at night?

So now I'm kind of overwhelmed. I've gotta buy Decon and Ghost and listen to them in full good quality glory, then there's Ghost two coming some time in the future, then Epicloud after that. Constant looking forward to when it comes to Devin Townsend output. You are truly good to your fans man, thank you sincerely for that.

I've been blasting Deconstruction non-stop for the past month, and after listening to Ghost I'm blown away to a completely different realm. I'm extremely thankful for having come accross Devin, and for all of his musical integrity.

Ok, I just needed to let that out....Blackberry FTW!!

this. Only since 2009 for me.

And I'll add: this is Dev's finest achievement. Instantly gratifying, satisfying, blissful, consoling, and ...complete.

Been round since about 2005 myself... rediscovered Devin with the DTP, and I'm pretty sure these 2 albums have solidified him forever as my favourite musician.

At first, Ghost seemed a little bit boring after finally getting comfortable with the immense absurdity and complexity of Deconstruction...
...But it is fucking beautiful... :D

Monsoon/Dark Matters/Texada are definitely more awesome at night.

My faves are those three as a trio, Kawaii/Ghost/Blackberry, but my total fave at the mo is As You Were. I actually cried like a baby when I first heard that song, and I don't usually like admitting that XD

I think Mike St. Jean deserves a round of applause for his work on this album. The drumming sounds so organic and lovely in contrast to Ryan and Dirk's blastbeats in Deconstruction, not to discredit them of course! :D

I really feel this is meant to be listened to in a meditative way, and some sort of meditative-like posture will enhance the listening experience. Either sitting cross-legged or kneeling with a zafu cushion for support, or lying down flat on your back. Anxiety gone...peace in, all-encompassing, surrounding...no struggle, no pain, no sorrow, no wrong, no judgment...just acceptance...just be...it just is...it is life...it is existence. It doesn't need to be anything more than this. It is whole, it is complete.

AND IT FUCKING RULES!!!

Totally agree about the Kawaii/Ghost/Blackberry combo, which I think a few people have mentioned. As a trio their just so happy and joyful while still being very atmospheric and thought provoking. I haven't gotten that into As You Were yet, but I feel it'll come. When I first listened to it I felt like it flowed smoothly up to around Dark Matters, a couple listens later and the the whole thing seems to flow. Happened with Ki and Decon too. I feel like the songs are almost split up into threes, if that makes any sense.

I'm going to have to come back tomorrow and write a longer post about Ghost because damn, I simply can't articulate my thoughts rationally at the moment.
