Would it be OK with the mods if I uploaded the Feather/Juular stuff to Mediafire and linked to it here?? That way, people without FB or Twitter could hear it.

good question. I'm not fully sure myself as it may be up to the label to decide how they want to release these two songs. I do not know how they'd feel about something like that. I guess if nothing else there's always the PM function.

After jamming Feather for a while, I have noticed 2 things:

1) It reminds me heavily of Tiny Tears, which is great
2) I think I like it more than everything on Deconstruction 8)

Currently there isn't much discussion to be had about Ghost, but if you remember pages of pages of certain new forum members posting about how badly they need something they're not entitled to, or speculating about when something is going to leak on an official forum and thinking there's nothing slightly wrong with that is something that has been discussed with the moderating team.

By all means, discuss the leak should it spring, anything about any aspect of the album that's already been revealed, anything about it you want really. However posting about people having it, where people have it and who they can bother to get materials before they're released? Yeah, I have a problem with that.

EDIT: Also, Power Drunk? You guys clearly don't know me that well :P

Of course, but I look at it like people who are just extremely excited to hear these new albums. Every fan of their favorite band (any band) will have similar posts of anticipation. I don't think the DESIRE to hear can be controlled as much as the LINKS to hear. I think that's where the line is drawn. And I'm totally comprehending I'm not the mod here, it's just my opinon. And because there isn't much to discuss about GHOST yet, it seems normal to have a bunch of BS posts. I don't think it's entitlement. I've pre ordered already, but honestly I peek everyday to see if anything has dropped.

I first heard Devin around Ziltoid...everyone else has grown with him as he's released cd's so to me its still all new and unreal. I don't worship post, but I feel so strongly about Devins music, it seems normal to me that people would obsess. I guess when I saw that sarcastic Boo Hoo, and I'm gonna change your posts I just thought: "Don't be harsh, their just kids and giddy."

Anyway, no offense. Rules are rules and I can live with that.

baudline shows the frequency cutoff to be at 16000 Hz, which is typical for 192Kbps. Having said that, my main player, Rhythmbox, shows it as 160Kbps.
edit: Just based on file size, it has to be > 160. :) For Juular: (((3*60)+46)*160)/8*1024 == 4628480, actual file size in bytes is 5416778

Hi, thanks for your post. There's absolutely nothing wrong with enthusiasm, and I hear you on most of those points. You wouldn't be surprised to find much of the same giddyness in my posts as well from topic to topic.

I happen to work managing web content all day, so I just happen to be close by a computer at all times and being that we have a surprisingly high amount of spam accounts for a relatively small forum, so that's what I deal with most of the time.

Unfortunately, during the Decon leak, some of these giddy posts were pointing at places and where people might go to find the leak, despite how badly they need it or else they might die, I was just simply curtailing the situation. Folks were posting "PM me the link to the leak" without even considering the fact that they could use alternative means to pass their pre-release leak around. The fact that these posts also do nothing to add to discussion is just my main reason for being a bit caustic about the whole thing.

We really only have a couple of rules here, so it's irksome that folks tread on fairly shaky ground in these threads, as it's very close to our number one rule a lot of the time.

It might be harsh, but it's really only for a little while longer.

I think that's enough of that, if you have any questions about these or any other policies, feel free to PM me, or any other mod or admin.

Cheers.
