I had to DECIDE... I hate deciding
Voices in the Fan... just makes my day whenever I play it...
But of course, the whole LP is PURE GENIUS
I voted for Regulator, because if i had only enough time to listen to one song on the album that would be the one, it was a bloody hard to pick one but Regulator it is for having one of the most rocking intros ever.
I've come here today to chew bubblegum and kick ass and i'm all out of bubblegum.

Wow, I envy you
A really hard choice... I voted for The Death Of Music, but Funeral and Bastard are just behind... Maybe The Death Of Music cuz' it's the more theatrical, epic one, and although it's got the word "death" in it, it doesn't sounds sad to me (remember I don't really understand/take care of the lyrics^^), while Funeral does, and Bastard sounds more dark than The Death Of Music. Night is great too, that's weird/fun/logical ? cuz' just "Here I am, driving through Japan at night" really creates this image of someone driving through Japan at night, the whole song

Geoff
hmm I played several songs of Dev .
Well but in my opinion there is no best song on the Ocean Machine, couse they all a part of the whole thing .
So, If you listen to the Ocean Machine, listen to the album not to the songs .
I think you know what I mean.

its either seventh wave, bastard, or funeral.
It's funeral for me. "It's just a spring clean for the may queeeeen"

However, highest point is "Voices in The Fan". Aural ecstasy.
Excellent statement. The album is arranged so well that it flows like one continuous song. I also voted for "Voices in the Fan", incidentally...
i voted for "seventh wave", cause it was the first song i heard from this record, but they are all great for sure!
Choosing a favorite song off of OM is almost impossible for me. I kind of view the CD as a 3-parter: Seventh Wave thru Hide Nowhere, then Sister thru Regulator, then the last with Funeral, Bastard, Death of Music, & Thing Beyond Things. Since I'm particularly fond of the "Third Movement", I had to go with Funeral. Plus, when that song starts after the little intro bit and you hear that wall of sound, I get goosebumps.

Exactly - you've hit the nail on the part of the nail that is supposed to be hit!!
I hope i didn't brain my damage...
All excellent but I'd have to go with Life because in my opinion it unites all of the elements that make this album so wonderful.
If you don't live for something, you'll die for nothing - Live For This.
