All three are equally as good, IMO, so I'd say just pick one and go from there.

Thanks for the rec's, I'll check therm out.

Yeah, anybody's are welcome, if you're willing to suggest some.

EDIT: This man is awesome:

Very interesting footage, especially the "Mad at my Dad" bit. Never expected Dev to do Grindcore on this record, hope it makes the cut!

When I win that lottery, we're gettin' it done! Well, after I pay off my bills, move the family back to Cali, buy a home, buy a couple of new cars, fix all the parts of me that are broken, invest in my children's future....

But dude, after that, it's a go!

No wait. I have to tackle my parents' medical expenses, get my mom into a house, pay off their debts so they can both actually retire...

Ah, but after that, we're golden! Should have at least, like, $5 mill...er...$500,000... no, wait... um... $5,000 left! Hmmm....

Maybe next time?

;)

The Dev wrote:And yeah, I love Stravinsky, Wagner, Zappa ...all that stuff, and by NO MEANS do I put myself in their category. They are 'composers' who know what they are doing theoretically, I consider myself more of an emotional dude who engages in high levels of jack-assery and is not afraid to fail. :)

...just as Ghost's concept included flute, Decon. included symphonic elements.

yaw!!

Yes, Zappa had a strong theoretical background (not to mention the classical composers).

But hey, Jaz Coleman from the british post-punk/industrial/goth/whatever cult band KILLING JOKE composed classical pieces and I don't think that he's able to read music. But if I remember correctly, he collaborated with a conductor and the outcome was his own symphony called "Fanfare For The Millennium". Brilliant stuff. Coleman even had the opportunity to perform his coposition live as a conductor himself.

More or less the same with Kärtsy Hatakka from WALTARI. He composed metal/symphony hybrids ("Yeah! Yeah! Die Die!", "Evangelicum") together with the Finnish conductor Riku Niemi.

Why not, Mr. Townsend...

Now playing: Tschaikowsky - Cappricio Italien op 45

god damn his kit sounds incredible.

with all the nibz/nuggetz we keep getting about stuff (i.e. "The Punisher"), it'd be cool to have the Devwiki up and running to compile all the info.

It seems like the more I hear, the less I know what to expect. Very curious about the final product though. :)

This is exactly how I feel too. Even after watching the clips multiple times and following the thread(s) I still think the final product will be a huge surprise.
