Awesome. I love 'Spirituality' an stuff like that with the mechanical, dirge vibe to it. Looking forward to this

The extra year just means that the albums will be that much more awesome :D

Being a musician/writer myself, there are always little changes I want to make even after I put the final product out there. This just gives Dev a while longer to toy with stuff and make it grand :D

Oh wow, i hadn't realized they had been moved to next year! I had been expecting at least Deconstruction any month now. Damn tour :P

I remember when we were getting 4 DTP albums in a year, was so excited.

Oh well, I still am. At least i can count on them being great albums. :)

Honestly Dev, you being so prolific is a great plus imo. Some bands never put out enough music(Tool), and other's attempts to reinvent themselves fail pretty horribly. You on the other hand can hammer out great albums consistently (and constantly) while attempting new or different things on each of them.

PS: It's the internet age! I'd pay per track if you were to release b-sides or just random, non-album material.

To do four albums in a year, I imagine the quality would have to have suffered a bit. I'm happy to wait, Ki took a while and look how well that turned out.

The longer it takes, the better it will be when it comes out :D

No, I have faith in Dev that this album won't be too over-thought. I mean, so much is crammed into a typical DT song, (Take a look at the Supercrush protools session, for instance) and look at how much is there, another year will give time for the music to mature, see how it sounds when it's being recorded vs. when the majority of it was written, time to make the songs everything they could be, pretty much.

i agree. i mean look at the 4 albums that buckethead released in '09. each was very short and lackluster. im sure the wait will be well worth it.

I fucking RAWK at MS Paint, eh? :D

And for the record, I ain't got no problem waiting for a quality record. Better it be in the distant future than rushed together now, I think.

Hey Dev, if you read this, I was wondering how familiar you are with Bobby McFerrin.

I ask because, honestly, the path he has taken reminds me a lot of yours.

Both took lengthy sabbaticals. Both, when returning, did things completely different from their previous stuff. Bobby turned to, actually, composing classical music, and you did Ki and dig Stravinsky. Bobby says pretty much all he listens to now is folk music, and a lot of his current performances are his variations on African folk music. I believe I remember you saying that Ghost is a sort of acoustic, somewhat folky album or whatever, and that, spiritually, you identify with the native/tribal cultures of the world. So you both have this interest in that sort of thing. And then, one of Bobby's most recent endeavors was a 15 month failed attempt at writing an opera, and I think I remember you saying Decon is your idea of a symphony.

I don't know, maybe I'm imagining things, but I see a lot of matching details.

You two should get together and jam, I think it would be educational if nothing else.

A reggae Dev album. Or...imagine a ska Dev album. Oh man, Dev should be the new singer of Sublime (not that they're still together or anything)

Of course, only as a one time thing. I love his unique style too much to ever want him to go towards any one style for good.
