You know, for the longest time, I was really hoping that Gene would have a guest spot on Deconstruction. Simply because of how intense that Alien was, it seemed like such an obvious fit to me; I didn't even want to have Strapping back. Lately though, I have been listening to DT alot (which I prefer over Strapping now, tenfold) and I realized that when he did work with Gene on Infinity and Terria, it wasn't so obvious that it was Gene, it wasn't so "stylized", You know? I found it refreshing when RVP came in, he brought a new "flavor" to the mix, fitting DTB so perfectly. it fit the concept of it like a glove. Ki has amazingly emotional drumwork, and RVP truly shines on Addicted, so instead of waiting for Gene, I'm just gonna to see what happens next, because Devin knows exactly what he wants out of his music, surprising us with every release. I can't wait to witness what the future holds for Devin.
