Lucky! What did they sound like then?

Very varied, and a real mix of crazy stuff. Brutal, of course, but not just balls to the wall brutality at the expense of all else.
There's a lot going on in each song, it's really dense and often complicated.
Which is definitely the stuff I prefer to hear.
I got introduced to Devin when he'd just released Infinity, and personally, I think some of the songs off that, like Truth, Ants, and Dynamics, were his song-writing peak.
Ziltoid veered back towards this level of insanity, but I think Decon will actually go a lot further.
And for that, I couldn't be more happy 8)

I heard the Decon and Ghost demos as well. Decon is heavy. Very heavy haha. Technical as well. The first song he showed us was guitar sweeps, and double bass drums. I have absolutely no doubt that this album is going to kill.

I've got to admit, before hearing those demos last night, I wasn't to sure about how Deconstruction would work out. I felt that given Devin had said that he was only doing it for his fans, it kinda meant that his heart wouldn't be in it. But after last night, I am just looking forward to it so damn much. I'm personally really happy that we're starting to see a more trance-y side of things here. I mean, it was still brutal trance, but it just sounded so "right" given the theme of aliens and space and hell and the universe and so on. The 15 minute track is Traestorz (or however it was spelled), and from what we heard, it's just going to be unreal, really grand. There was some really syncopated crazy slow electronic stuff on another track too, almost like a really dirty dubstep track that never quite resolves. It was played underneath the Ziltoid radio broadcasts Dev's been doing at the Australian shows, for anyone that was there. Not sure how much of this Dev wants known at this point, but given he felt comfortable showing it to a room of 100 people or so I figure it's cool to post here. :)

Also, expect more vocal guest work, both male and female. It's going to be absolutely killer. Hell, if I had a recording from last night I'd still be listening. Very excited folks.
