You've made this clear before, but Decon. was sounding interesting in own way.
Not that I have any idea what it's gonna be like.
I love HEVY music as a purger, but if that's over for you now.......
Use heaviness to emphasize something else? Some kind of beautiful calamity?

The Meshuggah guys are sweet and funny.

I've been shouted down by metal folk for liking trance and other electronic/dance music in the past, so it's good to see a bit of love here! If it's your thing, trance music can be beautiful (even without drugs!). Great "working music" too... can build up a great vibe.

No idea how much you've listened to (much more than me, who knows?). But if you're after someone else, Ferry Corsten does some good stuff, check him out if you haven't already. Underworld's live DVD from 2000, Everything Everything is brilliant. Of course, pretty much their entire back catalogue has some astonishingly good stuff on it too.

Chillin' now, it's a holiday.

It's pretty funny though...think about it.

I have feeling it's not what lots of folks are expecting anyways.

syl is done, it's not like syl.

can you hear me in the back of the hall there?

If you're expecting syl, you. will. be. disappointed. Please don't get your hopes up.

=D I personally prefer the Ziltoid style.

Ha!

You guys are great :)

Yeah, who knows? I'm digging Addicted now. I love heavy, but if it comes on shuffle, and it immediately annoys me, I think it's time to move on.

Supercrush came on and I loved it. Judgement (Synchestra) came on and it bugged the fuck out of me.

Kid A by Radiohead came on and I listened to the whole album.

I'm not thinking albums yet, just throwing ideas around. We'll see what happens with Addicted and a tour.

Goodnight!

No syl required. You make the album you want to make and I'll listen to it. Repeatedly.

I absolutely love SYL, but I think finding Decon is basically SYL would dissapoint me the same way I might've been dissapointed if Alien had been just like City or Ki just like older solo DT.

Im just curious as to how Ziltoid fits on this record. I guess he sorta fits the theme of someone looking for answers since Ziltoid is.... OMNICIENT! (ahahaaaw aw ahawaha)

I don't care if it's like SYL. All I want to know if it's going to be industrial sounding, because that would rock cocks. I doubt that though, given Devins current output. I just love it when the guitars sound all machine like. Which is why I spent most of my day listening to Catch 33. And Radiohead for some reason. At least lately.

Yes, industrial sounding, Devin. Rock our cocks, Devin. I must orgasm violently, Devin.

It's ok, we understand. Seriously though inquiring minds such as my own and Stigs want to know, will it be particularily industrial sounding?

:) you know I luvs ya...

Some of it, I guess...

Honestly, I don't know...I've got 2 or 3 industrial type songs somewhere...will they make the cut? Too early to tell.

I'm just chilling before I have to tour. If I get on a roll, I'll go with it. But I haven't been to the studio in a week or so. No desire right now. I've got a ton of crazy songs, 2 or 3 heavy songs, some weird ambient heavy songs, some trippy outer space freaky techno thing (or 2) and a bunch of dreary acoustic songs.

I've got the beginning and the end of it. But the problem is: Deconstruction illustrates a conclusion I came to a year and a half a go. The record is old hat now. So technically, at this point, I'm doing it for the audience. I'm trying to justify THAT as an artistic motivation within the realms of the dtp, but my desire to chill is winning over that every time currently.

I tried to justify it being a brutal detox after Addicted is made known, as in: Once you realize your addiction, what do you do about it?
...but again, the end of deconstruction... the 'kicker' ...like the end of Ziltoid, I already know. So it's just filling in the blanks for the sake of folks following it. I'll do it, for sure, but it just seems like a colossal headache right now. You know, we humans tend to think that we can solve everything by going incredibly far into our own game, but I'll tell you ...the furthest I've gone, either meditation, drugs or trauma seems to lead me to a place WAY PAST the heavy and the chaos, to a place that there is nothing. A void filled with potential.

'Lust and hate need fuel, and in the void, there is none, so eventually it extinguishes itself'. So I guess sometimes that irony seems a little hilarious... (thank you thank you, why yes, I am pretty freakin' smart, how bout a head rub?)

Oh well, sure...I'll make it industrial, why not? :D

Fuck yes. When I say Industrial I mostly mean the guitar tone. Maybe because I want every metal album to sound exactly like Catch 33. Scott just said you like the Bulb? Something like his tone as well would be amazing. The word I am looking for is: djent.
