And album sales just went up a good 50%!

Yeah, Decon. is slowly lurching into shape.

It's a hefty dose of Ziltoid (the weird bits) syl (the dirgy, slower bits) Devlab (the stream of conscience) and something else...

Yes, there will be a gospel choir on some bits.

Yes there will be guests.

Yes, it will be one of my finest moments.

Yes, it will give me nightmares...maybe not you though.

No, it's not completely toxic

Lots of math and outerspace shit, some subversive anger, and a strange intent.

It's an absolute, technological, and organizational nightmare. It'll be a great feat, but I don't know about what yet.

Sexy.

I am obsessed. I did a college paper on it for Music Literature class, have searched for different versions, and am now into one of the many books my college library has on the man, and his works. It's just a shame it took this long. Do you have a favorite part? Mine is the second movement or track...sometimes called Dance of the Adolescents. That ending is heavier than any form of metal I have ever heard.

Sounds like Deconstruction is shaping up to be quite the enigma...especially compared to the pick-up-and-play nature of Addicted.

Devin, what's your opinion on "Industrial Metal" and the fact that your music is often compared to it?

I'm 100% looking forward to this, but just want to throw in that complicated is a relative term. Some great music isn't "complicated" at all. For example, the opening guitar bit of Ki, not complicated, just amazing and beautiful. And as much as Addicted is being described in some ways as a simple and straight-forward album, it sure sounded like it was complicated to put together! But the best example: boobies. Round, soft, simple, wonderful.

Yeah, I love simple music... I mean, what do you really need for great song. But there are times when simple just isn't enough, and I think those times are certainly getting longer as I'm getting older. It's weird thing, I actually listen heavier stuff now than when I was in my teens. One of my favorite albums is Alien from SYL, so I'm hoping that Deconstruction will blow my mind in similar fashion. Then I can pick up pieces with some simpler tunes again, until next mind fuck 8) Confusing...
