I'm afraid it definitely is, first, he has to finish his "let it all out" project - but it would be great if tourdates through Europe will be announced then, especially middle-europe - I know loads of people here who appreciate his music and admire his work in general. He has a very good recommendation here and also gets attention by local newspapers.

I wouldn't say DTP is near the finish line quite yet... Addicted isn't mixed and mastered yet, Decon is only being demoed in spare time right now and 4th isn't going to be started until Decon is out of Devin's system. So I wouldn't even say it is half finished until Addicted is fully out the door and Decon is going into recording process.

I agree, I didn't say this either (that DTP is nearly coming to "an end")

I'm sure that the three new albums are fantastic in a different way because all devin's work are fantastic. But no pressure. :coucou: And the most impressive in that is that Devin already have an idea of the future album (after the three) like he said... "Inspiration without limit" :D

Dev - will the 4th album be guitar based? I was hoping for a Hummer-style album. I love the Hummer!

(sorry if this has been asked already)

I know it's kinda random and off topic (ANd probably already mentioned), but Purge would be an awesome name for the last album.

...it will be appropriate, Decon. is also VERY complicated.

The last record is NOT heavy.

Flo Mounier on drums would be the shit... or something... What did you think of the "Oh My Fucking God" cover?

That would be really cool to have the SYL alumni back for Deconstruction. Kind of a swan song of sorts by the way you are describing this CD. Too bad that looks to be real hard to do with Byron and Gene doing the Fear Factory thing and Jed doing Tenet. In any case, whoever you are getting to do this CD, I know it will be crushing!

The way you are describing the fourth and last CD, do I see an all acoustic affair in the works?

Having SYL on this record makes no sense to me at all. The new black WAS the swan song. I need to make something heavy without SYL, and don't worry...

...you'll see.

Believe me, I am not worrying. I know you will find a great lineup. I guess you are right about The New Black being the swan song of SYL now that I think about it more. Trying to recreate something of the past would just be rehashing. I wanna hear something new in absolute brutality! I also cannot wait to hear the 4th CD either. I like to balance the heavy with the mellow. It would still be cool to hear you play with them, maybe not at all at the same time, sometime in the future. I imagine you, or they, will eventually cross paths.

Even though I wouldn't peg myself as one of those who desperately wants more Strapping and only listens to the heavy (I'm actually way more interested in Dev's solo work, while I do enjoy the dynamic(s) of SYL), I've really been looking forward to Deconstruction. It may be that this style of complicated, off-the-wall, monster of a record is just what I need or something. Regardless, I'm thrilled about Addicted, but the anticipation for this one is obliterating me.

So, out of curiosity, Dev, you said this one was going to have a full orchestra, right? That would be fucking awesome. I was just wondering, will it be live instruments in the orchestra (set included), or just samples (and DFH)?

Sorry for the fan of Syl  but I think It's a good choice for Devin to do something in a heavy way different than syl because he can do everything he want with the emotions. The emotions who are sometimes absent in syl and not in the devin solo stuff. Ki was different (avant gardiste) but monumental (with some elements of terria on it). I think Addicted was a mix of ocean machine, phycisist and infinity with a lot of experimentations. Deconstruction a mix of all the devin's work (ziltoid, synchestra, the syl albums, accelerated evolution...) condensed in a rainbow of colour. For the 4th and last of the series album (reconstruction)... I think it's a mix of ki , terria (for some parts) and the hummer. Am I right? :help: The 4 series albums are all a condense (synthese) of the best work of devin (a sort of definition of his career). After that? A new beginning? I think. But what are your opinions...?
