As a Starschmucks employee (god damn my university schedule not allowing for real work) I got a real kick out of 'tall latte'. It's almost like you know what it's like to work there, Dev. Thanks for that. It made me feel like someone sane understands how stupid Starbucks really is, because most of the employees seem to think it's wonderful to be there. Made me laugh my ass off when I heard that incessant 'excuse me, but I ordered...'.

The rest of the album kicks ass. I'm a big fan of the arcing storyline and being hit with 'a ton of feathers' as you so put it.

Thanks for the new album.

You have no idea, Sirs. That's the EXACT tone and annoying inflections people use when they're absolutely sure you didn't put THREE AND A HALF pumps of vanilla into their tall latte, or that it can't be 165 degrees, and you need to re-make it warmer....*twitch*

If ever I am your way, and I have a hankering for something from your establishment, I promise to: be courteous and I will also only ask for a vanilla bean. I don't even care what size, since the sizes listed make zero sense to me, anyway.

Cool?

And good looking celebrity women in their 40s. They all seem to end up looking like catwoman.

If you people hate the job, why don't you just quit?
I never understood Starbucks... what's wrong with just Black Coffee ... extra dark roast?

They`ll pay good, I assume. And during college you need every money you can get!

That I`ve asked myself several times, too! All these "trendy, new" styles of Frappo-Mocca-whatever-ccino, absolutely overpriced but everybody runs for it. *LOL*
Nothing`s wrong with plain good old-fashioned coffee, keeps me alive every morning! Image

That would be it, Mindtrap.

Starbucks starts everyone out at $9/hr, which is over minimum. They give you a raise every 6 months, their scheduling is really flexible around school, as well as allowing for you to transfer between stores if you move around (handy for me when switching houses in september). They even give you full medical/dental. So it's a pretty lucrative student job. You just have to deal with a lot of snobs.

Which is one of the things Devin totally captured with the "excuse me, i think i ordered a...."

i mean
hell, a normal person would just go and say "hey dude, i ordered a cup of blablawhatever tall cocoa latte roast bitch dayum, is it ready yet?"
An "excuse me, i believe i ...." is already triggered for a "what do you mean you don't know? are you calling me a liar?!"

or something of that sort :P

That`s the problem if you work in a service job, people not only seem to believe you`re bound to "obey" them no matter what they want, they also tend to think you`re kind of retarded or something and talk to you like that. During my college time I worked at a cinema and often got the same treat from most of the people.

I'm a Starbucks, Dev's a Horton's (how did we ever get together  )Shoulda seen Devin having to go do my coffee run last summer. I made him a note card to hand over "I'd like an iced grande half-caf non-fat hazelnut latte in a venti cup." - too much ice, not enough drink in a grande cup - he was so embarrassed.

The little town we are moving to has both - thank God. The next town over had no Hortons - quickly eliminated. Didn't matter if it had nicer views...
