This album sounds waaay better than I had originally imagined. At first I was like, "Uh, masturbation and puppets? What the fuk? Did Dev have a baby or a stroke?"

But, now I can't wait for this album. Now the trouble will be explaining it to my wife. Or not. I might as well just forget it 'cause she'll never understand. Maybe one day my son will.

Oh, and as to Dev playing live... Y'know, I get that. I get not wanting to do it. And, for me, I'd live with it as long as I got new records to listen to. But, I tell ya, next time SYL or DTB is in SoCal, I'm there. I blew off OZfest because it's teh lamezor and I actually could have bought tickets to see SYL at the Key Club in L.A. and thought, "Nah, I'd rather see DTB live instead." I wasn't as much of an SYL fan back then (two years ago!). I figured with Synchestra coming out (at the time) that I'd catch the SYL tour.

Doh!

So, while I hope Dev continues live shows, I'll live without if I have to and totally respect the man as one of the most talented musicians I've had the pleasure of listening to.

The promo arrived today. It's hard to describe. SYL meets Infinity is my first impression. Plus the Punky Bruster comedy. This is going to be a hard review.

Oh, but it doesn't suck! Nooooh! Not even by a longshot. It's brilliant (as usual), but kind of hard to grasp at first few spins.

If Dev had a dime for every time someone said that about his music, he wouldn't need Century Media <yay> or us <boo> to give him money.

Oh, and I envy the fact that you have heard the album already.

My thoughts exactly... Every album is brilliant but will take many listens to really "get" it.

Cool!

Since it is released by both HDR and Inside Out, I expect it to appear is stores just like any other Devin Townsend (Band) album. Don't worry :)
