ABBA - everything, especially "S.O.S." - very early childhood
Simon & Garfunkel - everything, early childhood
Europe - Wings Of Tomorrow (album) - becoming a metaller (OK, rocker)
Bad Religion - Suffer - becoming a rebel
Devy - Ocean Machine (album) - seeing the light

...to name a few.

Okay guys prepare for some deviation from the norm.

Rachmaninoff - Prelude in G minor Op 23 no. 5

A certain Chopin Military Polanaisse, I cant remember the name.

No this is not a joke.

My wife juried with these tunes which means when she was in school all I heard was this music, over and over. Seriously metal dudes would like this music. I really liked the glazed look in her eye when she would play this stuff and she would just beat the hell out of the piano as she played. Man she has strong hands.

Hoho, my good man, now you reminded me of something. Franz Liszt, 2nd Piano Concerto! One part (0:38-0:52) in the second movement (Allegro Agitato Assai) is totally metal! And I mean the classic chugga-chugga fucking heavy metal style! When I first heard it, I couldn't believe my ears. "Wait! This ... this here is ... this is METAL!" In 1849! Ace. And yes, both of Liszt's piano concertos are of course beautiful. *listening now*

Howzat by The Little River Band. A bit of an Aussie, cheesy classic. Every time I hear it I'm instantly a little kid again, back on a beach in Rye watching locals drag a fishing net up on to the beach and jumping around to avoid getting nipped by escaping sandcrabs.

Ah, you see? I typed in Sherbet, second guessed myself and went with LRB. I couldn't see past all the exposed 70s chest hair. Thanks for setting me straight.
