Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

Did you ever notice that your choice of music sometimes is influenced by the current season? For some weeks, it's been starting to get quite dark already in the late afternoon, and this reminds me of last winter when I spent some evenings just lying on my bed, listening to (not only, but mainly) melancholic music, lots of acoustic and more quiet songs, absorbing the atmosphere of the cold days.

One musician I can definitely recommend for those moments is Steve Von Till, also his main band Neurosis. Some Porcupine Tree stuff also worked really well under those circumstances, especially their album Deadwing.

Unfortunately I haven't heard Dev's Hummer yet and don't know if it would fit here as well.

Any other bands or musicians you can think of?

Holy crap would it fit. You know how the morning after it snows it's a quiet that is almost claustrophobic...kinda like there is an invisible wall? The Hummer kinda feels like that. And the vast expanse of white....there is a vast expanse of white noise, almost. Oh, and how pure and clean and renewed everything feels and smells? After listening to The Hummer, I got a lot of the same feelings. THank goodness it is cold here, because it fits The Hummer PERFECTLY.

Antartica is another good music type thingie to listen to during winter.

i'm in the middle of the summer here, and aparently whoever controls the weather up there is on crack. It's so hot the only thing i'm glad to listen is the sound of an air conditioner

I find that as it starts getting wintery I really start to feel music more, and the seasons and the weather usually are one of the biggest influences on what I'm in the mood to listen to
