Ahem, that's what I'm talking about: I never really liked John Lennon's Imagine- and since it was featured in a commercial (don't remember which one it was though) I eventually even got the feeling of being hunted by this song... Don't get me wrong, it's not as if I don't like Lennon at all - I love the Beatles and also some of his solo stuff, which I'm not too familiar with - it's just that this song never clicked. To put it in a polite way.
Yesterday I saw the video clip for A Perfect Circle's version of it (on their aMOTION-DVD). And I was f-u-c-k-i-n-g blown away. I couldn't believe my ears, this was so great. It was still this song... Just turned into something completely new. Does this make sense? No? Well, I never said it would
Anyway, have you ever experienced something alike? That you never really liked a certain song, until another band covered it?
Hm... This topic makes me wish I could listen to SYL's version of What's new, Pussycat right now.
